craig 680
--Another thing, judging by the relatively low sales I don't think this album will have longevity. I didn't say it was crappy I just think it will struggle. I actually don't mind "applause" and "dope."--That will depend of Singles 2, 3, 4.Britney 4th and 5th albums started shaky, and so did Teenage Dream opening week. PdogtheDaibutsu 717
Like I said I'm not a major fan but I will tell you what annoys me [remember I like some of her stuff] - she comes across too pretentious, is hypocritical e.g. "i don't care about sales" but then tells people to buy multiple copies of "applause." I think the art concept is not something I think the average pop listener gives a **** about. I'm not here to argue just trying to give you an outside perspective. You guys generally only listen to people who absolutely adore her so don't hear or want to hear different views. Another big issue and it did piss me off personally and many other off is that many believe she tries to scam the charts. Payola and telling fans to put a video song on a 9 hour loop and having a 99c album is annoying. I do realise it was amazon's decision to sell it for 99c and she got the full regular amount but people don't realise or in fact want to know about that.Like I said I'm not a major fan but I will tell you what annoys me [remember I like some of her stuff] - she comes across too pretentious, is hypocritical e.g. "i don't care about sales" but then tells people to buy multiple copies of "applause." I don't think she tries to scam the charts at all. I doubt she has any direct dealing with any sales/charting situations. Yeah I can why a lot of people get uncomfortable with the way she promotes her music, but in reality I think she gets caught up in the excitement of it. Many people think she said she doesn't care about charts or sales, but that's not what she means. She said she doesn't write music FOR the charts. She knows her music isn't formulated number 1 hits, so of course she gets happy and eager when her music does have a level of success on the charts. Once an album starts slipping it's hard to come back up most of the time.

If DWUW do real good over the xmas it could bring some sales... and it all depends on single 3-4 too. She'll probably have a chart run like Rihanna and hit platinum in the long run,

Payola and telling fans to purchase more than one copy of the same song and show receipts IMO is a bit desperate and many people believe including me gives the wrong impression that a song has made it's way in the charts llegitamitely. It's like with the MDNA CD is wasn't given away with concert tickets buy you could get it when you bought concert tickets at I think at a slight reduced price - but people just think it was given away. lugh121 50
I know it was deleted but the word still gets around that's the ****ed up thing about the internet if you make a mistake and even if you delete it it can bite you in the ass. From my understanding playlist views do count on billboard. You are right people will still be talking According to Bill Werde the playlist are count as "spam " views and vevo do not report them to billboard. Cool thanks for letting me know I didn't know that. That's exactly what I mean, I heard it did so without double checking it as fact I just believed it. But actually only LFN got #1 via a discount.

Like I said, if any payola existed( which is most likely doesn't) , it would definitely not be conducted by herself. And about the applause incentive, everyone knew that wouldn't have any effect. See "marry the night download day". It was probably more of an incentive/method for fans to win backstage passes to meet her. She isn't perfect, but the general public always tends to view these problems with only half the story, or what the media portrays it as.

She's not the only one who has used Payola a good judge that payola was used is look at how many copies it has sold and how many weeks it has been in the charts. It hasn't sold badly but not heaps for a top 10 song that has been in there for like 12 weeks.
