Kevbev 377
She needs to book some promotion for this week stat. Honestly, DWUW is crushing iTunes for its radio position and any sort of promotional push should send it flying up the charts like the UK. Having a smashing song will also help to move ARTPOP this week. Honestly, I have a good feeling about the next few months. It looks like Applause will hand off its torch to DWUW at precisely the right time and as DWUW continues to get bigger throughout the next couple of months ARTPOP should continue to sell. Now we can just pray Venus won't be released next. . . Agreed! GaGa better not release this Venus video in the midst of the DWUW era.
Americano 31,061
Interscope is so stupid for putting their releases so close... its easier for him to overtake her WW since the sales are smaller and the gaps are smaller, so I hope the gap is big enough in US next week that she gets to #1 w/ ease

nick4bty 2,758
I'm secretly hoping ARTPOP is like 20/20 Experience and sells double its initial prediction. But JT had HUGE buzz the days leading up to its release. Gaga has like zero buzz. People don't even know the album is coming out. lol. Terrible terrible promotion, I just don't get it Agreed. I feel like "Unconditionally" just isn't sticking with people. It literally has no soul to it. DWUW has so much passion in it. I really think it's going to be a big hit once the promotion kicks in. Well, Unconditionally is a good pop song. And let's be fair - it took Teenage Dream a long time to pick up, because California Gurls was still so big. The same thing is happening here - Roar is still big, and Unconditionally is picking up slowly. Once Roar starts falling hard and Unconditionally's radio updates pick up, its sales will pick and it'll be a hit. I really don't think it'll go #1 though. Way too much competition (The Monster will likely be the next #1 leader, for many weeks).

nick4bty 2,758
Like, the artRAVE at 11:30pm, right when the album is released to iTunes, is a good idea, but no one other than hardcore fans will give a ****. And she's not on a single talkshow this week. Like what the ****. Well ya'll, looks like we gotta take promo into our own hands. I plan on going out late tonight to write "Buy ARTPOP in stores and iTunes Monday" all around the sidewalks here on campus.

If you looked at Twitter comments, people DO KNOW about the album's upcoming release Well the people that SHOULD KNOW do. 40 year old men that despise pop music and people along those lines don't really matter obviously

Maybe that's a good thing, though. Maybe Interscope wants those casual fans to pick up the album throughout the week, or throughout the next few weeks, or months. justalovegame 0
She's done well with the promo. Promo singles. iTunes banners and countdown. YT awards (floppy but it's something.) SNL coming up. Applause rising on radio. What more could she have done? The first week is meant to be fan-driven. I still think anything above 300K is impressive given the situation gaga is in.
