I heard the demo leak and was obsesssssed. The opening “ma ma, ma ma ma” was so catchy, I made it my phone ringtone 💀 

 

but thennnn when the official version came out… all polished and more intense, I was blown away 😭 her previous output was so pop-ish, this was such a fun, darker, heavier surprise

The first time I listened to Bad Romance was actually while watching the music video.

I remember I didn’t have Internet at the time because I was underage and my family did not have Internet, so I went to my sister‘s house, took a laptop that I had and sat down with my niece, and we watched the music video for the first time, and it was truly life-changing.

The chorus, the music, the fashion… Everything was just so amazing and honestly it’s something that I just cannot describe. It was truly an experience and you just had to be there because there was nothing that sounded like it.

It was honestly life-changing (at least to me ) and I just loved everything. The lyrics were amazing and hearing the description of it made me love it even more!

I think the demo leaked first and I listened to this version without the "wo ho ho" vocals in the intro.
Then she performed a snippet of the song at SNL and we were all seated for the official version to be released.

And when it was, you know, lives were changed forever. Nothing was ever the same.

I used to be so obsessed with the demo, but when the MV came out, I was still in school and me and my gay bestie watched it together. We were totally fascinated. Such a defining moment for me and my personality lol. And to this day, I don't think she will ever top this masterpiece, it's just so Gaga in every way.

I remember watching the McQueen runaway clip on my Blackberry on the freeway to my grandma’s house 🥹 it sounded so different which got me excited.

Then fell in love the with the demo and my friends thought I was insane…little did they know….

I listened to it on YouTube alongside the Alejandro demo and DITD leak and my mind was absolutely blown at how drastically she leveled up from TF which was already amazing as was!

I was watching a lot of Shane Dawson at the time and I kept listening to his parody of Bad Romance not realizing it was an actual song. I went and searched up Bad Romance to see what it was, surely enough, a real song. I was so... shocked and confused and after one more listen, my life was truly changed.

I was just starting to really get into Gaga after Paparazzi at the VMAs so I didn't watch the video as it premiered, but I randomly saw on it on Youtube a bit after midnight on November 14th, and I was so obsessed that I stayed up until almost 5 AM working on a drawing inspired by the video, which was my first ever piece of art inspired by Gaga, and the rest is HERstory

I was so blown away by the demo and then the official one was released and I was even more blown away like my brain exploded

But Bad Romance was never my favorite. Its a good song, but really overrated.

TV was playing at my nonna's house and I was playing Habbo hotel when the most beautiful alien woman suddenly appeared on the screen with that banger OOOOOOOOOOOOH I vividly remember the part of the video where she's in red surrounded by her dancers

I had known about her music before because I knew Just dance etc and trust I was bopping, but I never paid much attention to her artistry before. I didn't even recognise her at first, but I remember not being able to look away and being completely enamored with both her and the song
