VforVendetta 2,024
ARTPOP reached number 1 then fell today. I am sure pre-order affect happened. But what pre-order effect on itunes are you talking about? The album has been charting on these charts because of the pre-orders these 3 months. The sales we are talking about (the sales that made ARTPOP go no.1 on iTunes) are the sales of this week for ARTPOP. The album is gonna debut with all the pre-order sales + this week sales. (at least this is what I understand and what seems logical).

bumblebee 2,528
Unc flopping  Can we please focus on Gaga performance and stay respectful towards other artists? Really, since when is Katy so important on Gaga forum

I thought that he was on his second week. If Eminem hasn't put his album for pre-orders for too long we won't have a problem. If his album also has massive pre-orders let's hope that Gaga will have more pre-orders than him tbh!

KaanBTW 5,238
Applause will be #11 soon and if it stay a little but it can be #10 because "Say Something" is falling hard.
Mariano 958
Applause will slow down by Midnight but tomorrow It will probably continue with the green updates and If It manages to stay around 13-10 on Monday with the album release It will definitely go top
Luc 4,775
Guys, iTunes album charts are completely irrelevant in most of Europe. In the first quarter of 2013 in The Netherlands, 34,1 million euro was made from physical sales (about 98% of them albums) and 8,3 million euros from digital sales (of which most were from single sales). And then again digital sales include Deezer, Spotify, Youtube, iTunes and tons of other smaller things such as Last.FM and Radio538
SomethingMore 1,701
After this week ends Applause will be at est. 1,750,000. Considering next week is ARTPOP's release week + Applause is already rising, I think it might sell up to 90,000 copies. So total after next week should be at 1,840,000. Hopefully CMA effect wont take more than 200k copies

Even in America, most normal people either buy physical CDs or illegally download. Or if they do itunes, they use it to buy songs individually.
