Gagaloo911 12,959
I think she should cut promo singles from now on, and just stick to snippets & build hype that way. I don't want anything to distract from DWUW. This please. Promo singles mess everything up. Idc what hype they make. If that's the case, release the ones that obviously won't be hits and save the hits for the album so they aren't already charting by the time i ts released. That way they can be released later on as singles instead of being released during the previous single era because it's already charting high and can sabotage the single era before it. Pure Adrenaline 1,518
So in the end they don't know how pre-orders work and made the desicion just because they saw the song #1. It's much more fun to have hizophrenia... u never get lonely
XoXoJoanneGaga 629
Looks like Billboard received its paycheck from Interscope. How long before Universal drops her ? All this money poured into promoting her and making her look like a success do not work. Since Born this way was released her sales plummeted. THe last single from this album "Marry the night" was removed from airwaves by her own label after a few weeks to avoid the flop stories in the press. Her tour wasn't selling and they came up with that hip story her PR team tells you not to talk about in interviews during the promo of ARTPOP or they'll cancel and stop the interview. Applause only sold and held in the US where payola and radio deals were made. Everywhere else in the world it sank faster than the Titanic. Her tactics and methods to cheat the charts are covered by Billboard and it wouldn't had been known if people pointed it out to the editor on the internet and forced him to speak. She's a lie. She's a product Interscope forces down our throats, the most manufactured pop star ever, even One Direction are more genuine. Everything she does is contrived. Her 3 songs leaked from her new album ALL were pointed as being complete rip off obscure songs : DWYW, Aura (Infected Mushrooms the original producers and songwiters of the track trashed it in a newspaper) and the newly released Venus is a rip off the cover of Sun Ra by underground french band Zombie Zombie. All this wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for her, her producers and bought press claiming non stop how original she is, what a great songwriter she is who writes it all on her own (there always been like 4 authors to her every song and the new ones credits look like a phone book with so many names credited). Stop saying she is what she's not. Her DWYW single got to number one because it came with the album pre-orders and people who downloaded it are people who pre-ordered the album and the next day it sunk with no trace. Today it's like at #20. Record companies tactics are so transparent with Gaga. Without them she would be long time gone. She was the Macarena of 2009, a phenomenon who did not confirm anything. Her new album is again this dated eurodance with self absorbed lyrics about fame and money. The world has moved on.
Vernier 3,786
Oh interesting. Still disagree with their choices, but it's actually nice to read what their thought process was in doing this Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn
Americano 31,061
Do people here not know how to read? They looked at fan reviews, critical reviews, and instant response from programmers. Not just iTunes. Little Managers doing the most.
JPM 781
Everything is planned and it seems good. DWUW is def the 2013 version of TEOG instead we didn't get a Judas this time around, I'm really happy. This has potential. DWUW is a masterpiece. HYPERCRUSH 42
I loved reading this. SO interesting! I mean we already kind of knew all of this but just seeing it in one place and having it told as a full story was fascinating. Love how it's been universally praised, both commercially and critically. Can't wait to see what happens!
hausofchad 5
This article was great!!!! It really made me feel more comfortable with all that's going on (mainly just fan meltdowns). The reviews have been great and all of my non-Gaga-fan friends love Do What U Want. I'm being 100% serious. It's a song the general public will love. To all of you crazy people who think DWUW only did so well due to pre-orders...yes it's partially true. It did sell more because of pre-orders but pre-orders chart all at the same time. How can something last for 2+ days way at #1 from pre-orders. That logically makes no sense. I'm still not sure about releasing it to the radios so late, though. It just feels weird. But it is giving them time to figure everything out. Anyway, I'm excited for this album which we get in like 1.5 weeks! So just be happy!!!! <
Mariano 958
I don't know why guys but I have the feeling that now Venus won't be a single ... It will remain promo single with a video probably Interscope tend not to release promo singles as singles later In an album era, unless they change It like TEOG/DWUW they don't release promo singles as singles .... FrozenKookie 2,638
Interesting, glad her label has spoken up about this. Making DWUW as the 2nd single was a wise move but it was still a disappointment, disappointing in a matter that the label is still the same when it comes to scenarios like this and hyping the fans for nothing. Could've been better if it was the original plan rather. And the lies here Gaga has a full control from choosing singles? Bullshit, we aren't stupid.. seriously.. SinAgain 33
Why 4th though? that's TOO late It might feel like that for us since we have been with the song since the beginning but for someone like my mother who makes up the GP and has no idea what is happening in pop music until radio tells her, it won't make a difference. Plus, longevity is as important to singles as first week performance.
GagaSlayedYou 2
Hmm.. if I were Gaga I'd cut all promo singles and stick to releasing snippets through social media and streaming the album on iTunes. She's got appearances coming up, interviews, performances.. I'm guessing a video for DWUW will be rush-released. She doesn't need promo singles. She should save Venus for later. I think Venus release won't distract. But, streaming the album and releasing snippets are great ideas. Probably DWUW's video will be released the week after its radio release. We should just be happy that we have new music :)
