Bt1 5,213
gaga didnt go for over 2 months after btw lol. gaga didnt go ONCE during TFM era to perform on tv. She had a lot of promo during The Fame era and more than usual on BTW. With TFM era is different, because she actually did so little promo everywhere because she was on tour, including there. Foivos 64
I am curious to see how will Unconditionally chart. In the beginning we thought it would be an instant smash because of Billboar's article. But now with 60m AI she is ~25 on itunes. Also, despite the X factor performance in Aus. she left top 10 very quickly. I have the feeling that people cannot simply relate to it or find it a little simple. Luc 4,775
Thing with Gaga right now is that she has to release good music and promote it. She's getting in the position of Beyonce, Britney and Madonna. Not everything goes automatically like with TFM (well, nothing ever went automatically, but easily). Bt1 5,213
Let's not focus on Australia too much. Australia's only important for touring to be honest. She just needs a great performance to sell her tour. Perhaps a very hyped Monster Hall performance would do. I remember you guys saying 'if its good itll sell well!' though in the previous topics, well obviously it only does in Japan One (big) performance for Australia is enough. The US has enough promo too, just a few more performances in 2014 will do. UK promo is great for now too. She just needs promo in France and Japan atm. Perhaps she can do a televised theatre tour for a month with ~15 stops in the 15 most important touring markets besides the US? (France, Japan, Australia, NZ, Germany, UK, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, South Africa, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong/China, Thailand, South Korea). You want her to go in all Asia? She probably will. The last time when she was in Australia had only 2 tv performances. I understand that it is a little bit more hard with promo there, because beside X Factor ( who just finished), they dont have actually really good tv spots for pop stars. Or people just aren't as interested in her as Capitol thought and they overestimated her? Let's just wait for what happens with EMAs+AMAs. What I just don't get is why she didn't take the opportunity to promote in Germany when she was there. One of most stupid mistakes this era tbh. You want her to go in all Asia? She probably will. She's getting in the position of Beyonce, Britney and Madonna. Not everything goes automatically like with TFM (well, nothing ever went automatically, but easily). Applause was pretty automatic considering the lack of promo it had, and the underwhelming factor of the song. Still can't believe it hit 125 AI's. That never seemed possible in my wildest dreams

Still can't believe it hit 125 AI's. That never seemed possible in my wildest dreams Applause had a KIA commercial, VMA, GMA x2, lots of radio interviews. Look at what happened to the song in places where it didn't get promo (the rest of the world). Although I am surprised at Applause's longetivity. I couldn't have imagined that Applause would actually be this close to Roar on Pop Radio
Nick 29
but the commercial was big promo for the song most of the songs that have commercials do very good Oh yea, forgot about that. The commercial was probably responsible for that built-in stability.

Luc 4,775
Firework is charting higher on iTunes than Unconditionally in the UK right now Katy sis, why did you waste so much promo on Roar? Like you wasted X Factor UK and now ALL these Japanese shows on promoting Roar
Americano 31,061
DWUW's strength in UK without a video (in such a video-centric country) shows the smash potential IMO.
