They should really make DWUW a US only single. I'm really scared for how it's going to do WW :ohno:

Passenger, Gotye, Lorde are very dufferent for Us taste, the same would happen with DWUW in the rest of the World

Not really, hip hop/R&B is a popular genre here but it simply doesn't sell well because it attracts 13~25 y/o straight men instead of 13-25 y/o girls and gay males: the main demographic for Pop.

Streaming DWUW on Spotify as we speak :whitney:

Interscope needs to bring the international promo in tbh, do they even know that the UK, France and Germany combined already is a bigger market than the US?

Actually, that's not true. If you a--lyze it by the performance of Born This Way, the album, you'll see:

USA 2,298,000

UK 936,000

France 180,000

Germany 200,000

USA=1,74*(UK+GERMANY+FRANCE)

And then there's still Italy, Spain, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Poland and Switzerland. You can't be overexposed if you're doing one promotional performance in one country and you can do the same performance multiple times because nobody is watching both Dutch and Swiss television anyways. Next to that, acoustic performances would help Gaga so much here.

Sadly, and without any intention of showing disrespect to those countries which I love very much, with Born This Way, the album, we learned that more than 90% of her album sales come from USA, The UK, Japan, Canada, Germany, France, Australia, Switzerland and Taiwan. Those are the countries which need more intense promo before any others, to be honest.

But seriously the age restriction on youtube needs to go.

The further away the song gets from the #1 spot the smaller the % difference will be between updates. It's probably still falling just as fast.

How much did BTW sell in Taiwan, Australia and Switzerland? Always wanted to know (especially Taiwan).

You have to realize that it totally depends on how well promoted something is in a country. Born To Die by Lana Del Rey for example sold 300.000 in Poland and 500.000 in the US. Adele's 21 sold much less in Japan than Born This Way, but sold a whopping 450.000 copies in The Netherlands. If you have all the markets at full potential you truly optimize your album sales. And you must also remember that these days, singles are to promote an album and albums are to promote a tour.

For some reason I have a feeling Unconditionally won't reach #1 .... i hope i'm right lol

Same, I don't get why they chose it as a single.
