All of you whining about Venus being cancelled, how do you even know it would have been a strong single? We never heard any part of it. DWUW has huge appeal. I just don't want the 2nd single, the main one for promo, to be R&B with a rapper. I'm lukewarm about it as a song. I'd like something more interesting. When something goes bad, it'll be pretty stupid to damage it further rather than salvaging it. And we have sources that have told us Applause being the first single was mostly Interscope's idea, so idk why the fact that they could have a lot of control is so hard to believe. They definitely have a ton of control. Not arguing that. And assuming anything would be problematic. People complaining solely about Interscope are undermining the fact that Gaga has some autonomy. She could leak the entire album if she wanted. Right now, over 75% of the people who have posted in this thread are directing their anger (and sometimes venom) at Gaga, as if it's her choice alone. The post you made that I responded to also implied that you thought this is Gaga's choice - you literally said "if only we could talk to Gaga in a small room", remember? Be mad about the move itself, don't automatically blame Gaga when she's probably pissed (seeing as she also was during the aforementioned meddling with several BTW singles). I'm not understating or denying the huge autonomy she has compared to everybody else, which is about the biggest you could get in the business save for opening your own label, but please stay grounded when we know what Interscope did in the past.
