Swine 504 Posted October 3, 2013 Author Share Posted October 3, 2013 you could literally stop the applause video at any time and it could be a photograph. a great photograph. thats why she chose them to direct it. i agree the scenes cut to each other a little too fast, but other than that it was incredibly succinct and on point to me. and inez and vinoodh have directed a lot of videos, great ones. Good. Because everybody will do that while watching the video. In fact that's the purpose of a video: to make frames in which you will want to stop at any time just to comprehend and absorb what's going on. /irony. I am sorry if that offends you because that is NOT my intention at all, but I just have to say it - it seems like you have a "problem" with Gaga's work like years now and that is bad... No one is like forcing you to like her, she is an artist ahead of all, then a pop star, you need to remember that! She will never be just a pop star like Katy Perry(not a shade, just an example) and you need to accept that or just move on to another artist which is perfectly fine if that's what you want but don't say that it's her fault because she's done that or that... She's done nothing BUT making us monsters happy and that's really all I need. I think that's what the OP meant without knowing it. Shea an artist. A real artist. Most artists have egos & most are very difficult & want things done their way. People need to understand that by being a Gaga fan who is an actual artist, she's gonna do things that we don't understand. I'm not saying everything she does is amazing or artistic because ill be delusional. But she works her ass off to expose us to **** we didn't even know & artistically expresses herself unlike any popstar today. She's gonna always be different, have an ego & do things that "don't make sense" it's all apart of being a Gaga fan, because if everything she did was accepted by the GP and made sense, well then she'll be Katy Perry. Applause and the Y&I video. There was like 35421321x ideas at once which translated to a giant mess. A very beautiful and cool mess but still mess. It's like putting colors in glass. U put blue and yellow and see green, then in another glass put blue and red and u see purple....thne u think "that's so cool what will happen if I mix them together" and u put the blue,yellow, red, green and purple in one glass....and u see black. Once two ideas are mixed and then u mix them with another 2 ideas, they start to blur and u miss the main point. That's something she should focus on. MarkoLilMonster 17 Posted October 3, 2013 Share Posted October 3, 2013 shes been the complete opposite of egocentric. songs like MANiCURE, s-x dreams, applause, these are all tame songs that are not gonna create controversy, just so people can look at her in a different light, just so she can please you guys. if anything, she needs to stand her ground with her music more. imo, shes been loose with her backbone, and needs to do what she ****ing set out to do with ARTPOP, instead of trying to please these fans who want her to please the gp by making inconsequential mindless generic pop tunes.... oh and also, her team doesnt say yes to everything she does, i dont know where this delusional consensus has come from within this sector of fans who want to blame her for them not liking her creative decisions. inex and vinoodh are better video directors than some of those out there. they have directed videos before and are the best portrait photographers out there. the applause video is hardly dark, its just not an explosion of rainbow color like some grotesque katy video. You spilled so much tea in this sentence I can't even She shouldn't listen to her fans who want safe generic crap that GP will like. She should do how she imagined it to be, how she wants .... I'm really sick of the bashing on BTW and on her entire persona, she was A LOT more ego crazed back in The Fame compared to now so not sure where you're going with this. Plus the editing of Bad Romance dance scenes is messier compared to, well for example marry the night so not sure why you think the whole "fashion photographer" thing is wrong. If all this is happening because Gaga does not want to change her creative vision then I think it is great, I applaud her! She is an amazing artist if all this (songs, videos, performances) is her own creation. It means she is so talented and puts so much effort and do not change her mind just because someone said it's not good, she sticks to her ideas and is confident. And art is subjective. I think that she does not need to be number one superstar. Lets leave it for Katy or Miley or Rihanna, who just make music as factories make biscuits (same things made without effort, love and dedication, just MASS PRODUCTION). We should let Gaga to do what she loves the most, because she is great and talented artist. I love her the way she is and if some of you want Gaga to be number one on everything you just may leave this fanbase and enjoy being Katy's fan, who will give you a video full of rainbows and candies without any deep meaning and be number one all over the world. I prefer Gaga being number 49 or whatever and sticking to her artistic vision than Gaga being number 1 but manufactured and not real to herself. All we know is that the director said NO to her idea (whatever it was) and she decided to leave the set e direct her own music video. The result we know what is. She is losing that grip of reality to be honest. We love her, but she needs to put her feet back on the ground.
