The twerking for one thing, and she as quoted as saying she wanted a single that sounded black. Google Miley Cultural Appropriation for more. I think being black is an asset for Rihanna single-wise cause she gets crossover airplay in a way no white girl would with the same songs. Conversely, it hurts her album sales, cause the main market for pop is young white girls and many of them would rather invest in a white female like them as their idol.
