How is she trying to be black? By having urban influences?

Wow at Eminem's newest update. He is heading for a 300k+ week.

11. Lady Gaga - Applause

12. Passenger - Let Her Go

Let Her Go was one of the biggest hits of the year everywhere outside the US. It will be a huge competition to Venus.

Lorde :legend:

At least I agree with something you say :legend:

The twerking for one thing, and she as quoted as saying she wanted a single that sounded black.

Google Miley Cultural Appropriation for more.

I think being black is an asset for Rihanna single-wise cause she gets crossover airplay in a way no white girl would with the same songs.

Conversely, it hurts her album sales, cause the main market for pop is young white girls and many of them would rather invest in a white female like them as their idol. Albums sales - investing in an artist, not just a song.

Wow, Cher's album is selling really well. 5% drop is incredible.

Has she been promoting a lot? It is really impressive. I was expecting a huge flop tbh.

The first link talks about how she's not "trying to be black" and instead just doing what she wants... :awkney:

Well, it's also the quality people think she offers. Beyonce is black but sells albums great, unlike Rihanna
