I don't understand why people are so butthurt. Yeah she wont debut huge, but who cares.. the song will climb the charts. Huge debuts are overrated imo :coffee:

A good debut softens the blow in the event the song does not become a hit. At least Judas was able to be added to her list of top 10 hits because it barely made the top 10 for one week.

I can see Venus literally disappear between all the PRISM tracks... I think the most far away from that album release the better but who knows.

by friday those Prism tracks will fall off top 10 already

I hope it's true that she's only releasing the audio on the 25th.

Nothing screams "download my single illegally!!" more than an Youtube-only release.

i think one of the reason venus release date changed because there are too much competition on 28th.

There is an One Direction song, a JB song, Taylor swift song, and of course Unconditionally will be up there as well.

i think interscope is trying to release on a friday so as to avoid all the competitions.

Katy prism release on 22 Oct, hence on 22 - 24 there will be a lot of album tracks going top 10/20 on itunes.

To avoid all the messy situation, interscope might think that a friday release is better.

It might debut lower, but at least the song will get the exposure it needs

OHHH!

Now it makes sense!! I didn't know there were so many releases that day! Thanks for the info :) I'm relieved

If Venus is a bop, y'all can't stop worrying about its performance... I'm sure she's has major promo that day... It's her lead album single...

Jesse Pinkman

I'm only afraid that it doesn't even stay in the Top 10 of iTunes with all that following releases and then it will be hard to get up again. Not impossible of course.

It could go that way regardless. It all depends on if people like the song and want to buy it. Roar survived the flood of releases despite receiveing a early release

It's science, bitch

Considering it's Katy I wouldn't be surprised if the whole top 10 is made up of Prism tracks  :nails:

gurl lets be honest, Judas was gonna flop regardless. If Venus is controversial, then yeah it's a stupid idea. But if its a decent single that radio will play, I think.she'll be fine. Plus as someone else said, it probably would do terrible going up against all those releases..

If that were true, would it not make more sense to release an entire week earlier, (which would put it up against Katy Perry again) rather than a few days, as its peak would still (presumably) be a while after its initial release and therefore into the "competitive" week anyway?
