It's not like people will flock to the charts to see how a promo single is doing. She is selling to a different audience. Not really. Most of the US youth responding the the New Miley grew up with the Old Miley who was marketed at kids and pre-teens. Most of its impact will be done in few days so it doesn't need a full week and the purpose of a promo single is to promote the album, not to get its own Hot 100 placing. So preferably that would mean today or tomorrow. Applause will get back to #9 or so even with Aura out. I might add that the addition of Streaming to Hot 100 has destroyed the possibility of promo singles charting really high. Dark Horse sold well but charted outside top 15.
