heavyMetalGAGA 65
Katy and her team set a schedule, stick to it, and what does that get her? A HUGE hit single, two hit promo singles, and the perfect amount of buzz leading up to her most anticipated album release ever. All she has to do is tell her fans to buy WOA and it hits #1 instantly. Gaga's just losing everything because of her unprofessionalism. It's sad. Gaga isn't "losing her fans to Katy"....I mean maybe a few, sure, but you know just as much as I do that they're gunna be checking up on ARTPOP right when it drops. She doesn't need to be promoting on shows all the time, she's already promoted the single a few times and it's been in the top 10 for several weeks. Plus, she had one of the biggest promo spots of the year (the VMA's). And you don't know how much work Capitol does behind the scenes, they skew Katy's popularity a loooot with payola, fake Youtube views, and fake Twitter followers. I'll admit Gaga's losing some momentum with ARTPOP promotion, yea, but I know she can easily get it right back. And plus, she has a steady following and I'm confident Interscope knows what they're doing in terms of promotion this era. It's more relaxed, and I think the fans should be more relaxed too. Gaga's happy and that's all that matters :) It's gunna be a great era! Plus, promotion doesn't always sell. P!nk's last album is almost at 5 million WW with little to no promotion, but she has solid talent and a core fanbase like Gaga does, so it's all good! Number ones aren't everything
Dangerous Man 9,245
im losing patienceeeeee. 2 days late with tracklist. In a chart related sense, I want to see what will be its effect to ARTPOP in itunes. "A little less conversation and a little more touch my body." justalovegame 0
I don't think anything will boost ARTPOP's itunes position except leaked snippets or a promo single.

Number ones aren't everything Thanks for being level-headed. It seems like pre-ARTPOP November promo is lining up nicely. Still, October is completely open, except for a few overseas appearances. And we can't take back the fact that she let September basically slip by while she ignored us and worked on AP. I really do think Gaga is losing fans to Katy though. The fickle softcore fans, though. The ones that easily jump ship. Katy is the becoming the new Gaga, and people are flocking to her music like nothing I've seen before. She tweeted and WOA's sales jumped 150% in the matter of hours. It's incredible. It's not so much that her label plays unfairly. They just play smart, and they have their **** together. Interscope clearly does not - this goes all the way back to TFM era, and obviously the BTW era.
Dangerous Man 9,245
yeah release a promo single already. But then the album isnt finished yet. "A little less conversation and a little more touch my body."
craig 680
And Katy with 3 songs in the top 10. That's how you do it, interscope So they're once again rushing an era. Sigh. They aren't rushing it at all. Katy is the one with promo singles in the 6th and 8th week of her lead single release (likely single 2 in week 10). Gaga could easily have 3 singles top 10 if she rushed out the prormo singles. Relax, it's 6 weeks to the album. Don't feel she should be neck in neck with Katy. CoolTrainerTerry 1,490
Yes, let's keep going on about this. Like I said, it's good album promo. And I'm glad Gaga has this and SNL lined up. But the current situation is Applause, and for some reason, Gaga and Interscope are letting it die. Ellen or The View tbh. Both would be happy to make room for Gaga. All it requires is a few phone calls from Interscope. But no. Except it's not dying... And I can't with all of you people. She promotes like BTW and she's promoting too much. She promotes like this and she's not promoting enough.
craig 680
Gaga has done MORE promo for Applause than she did for BTW single or Katy has done for Roar. But because it's not #1, you think she should be running around like a scared little animal singing on every second rate late night show, desperately trying to goose it a couple points on itunes.. Rather than preparing a good campaign for late October to December. She's smart and sticking to the plan.

Prism's album release week is from the 22nd to the 29th? Then GaGa has around two weeks until ARTPOP's release date. Hopefully they plan those two weeks out well. 1197. Interscope clearly does not - this goes all the way back to TFM era, and obviously the BTW era. No problem :) Katy's always been a singles artist, though. And her popularity is continuing with each new single, not to mention she's returning from a very successful era. I mean I don't really see any Gaga fans flocking to Katy or jumping ship? I see some enjoying her new songs, but I've read how they could never stan for her cause she lacks so much stage presence & vocal talent. It's sort of like Katy's the appetizer everyone has before the REAL entree is served, which is Gaga :) They'll come back soon, people are so fickle. They're just enjoying her new songs, waiting for Gaga to drop hers. It's something that was bound to happen anyway, Gaga's album is dropping almost 3 weeks later, so her promotion should be a little behind. I'd rather her perfect her album and feel confident in it then turn it in and overexpose herself with her first single. Gaga's a lot more polarizing than Katy, she has to be careful with promotion. I do wish Gaga's team was a little better with promotion, but she's been relevant for many years already and has delivered quality that I believe will last decades to come, something her contemporaries could only dream of doing (besides Beyonce, Adele, and Rihanna's 'Umbrella'). I think everyone just needs to take a deep breath, relax, and be thankful that her first single hasn't tanked. There are great things to come
