I understand what you guys are saying about Applause underperforming. However, despite only having one big promo spot (VMA) it stayed in the top 10 of iTunes for 60 days, #4 highest radio song for her, and top 10 current radio song. It's doing well despite not hitting 1.5 million sales. If it fell right away like we thought it was, it would barely touch 2 million. As of now it has a chance to hit 3 million as long as she still performs it along with her current single. 3 million is fine for a lead single. This song is keeping her relevant until Venus comes.

First, applause is doing well as a single. It is holding well on itunes and gaining at good pace on airplay. Streaming was mediocre though

3m for a lead single is good nevertheless

By what I heard, this album is what gaga needs. When my gf and friends first heard applause they didn't care much for it but now when it comes on the radio they won't change it. They dance and sing with it. I feel like after the BTW era people were scared to like her but that can only last so long. I wouldn't agree to that even if you threatned to kill me. I just wish BTW era never existed. Imagine slayage if Applause came instead BTW. BTW slayed because of monumentum and it was hated by GP and a lot of fans, but Applause is loved by mostut of people. So if you sombined BTW monumentum and Applause being loved it would slay so hard (at least 5min US)
