Hell let's just call everything that's not JD PF or BR an underperformance Well it undererformed considering it is lead single. LG Alejandro, U&I all were release after album dropped, when most of fans allready got it and hype dissapeared, so #3-#6 positions are good for them Oh, i just noticed this. So bassicly what i wanted to tell applause is underperforming for a lead single. All those you mentioned are third or fourth single. it is obvious that they wont do better than lead or second because people already bought the album and sales will be lower applause on the other hand is a LEAD single. It is normal that the numbers are not the same as 2009 because more radio stations were created or Mediabase changed the way it calculated the impressions. But it will be remembered as her biggest radio hit (until Venus of course)... But the most important thing is that the buzz around this will be quite big especially if Gaga tweets it. However, despite only having one big promo spot (VMA) it stayed in the top 10 of iTunes for 60 days, #4 highest radio song for her, and top 10 current radio song. It's doing well despite not hitting 1.5 million sales. If it fell right away like we thought it was, it would barely touch 2 million. As of now it has a chance to hit 3 million as long as she still performs it along with her current single. 3 million is fine for a lead single. This song is keeping her relevant until Venus comes.
