Pour it up really didn't do so great. It peaked at 19 and did terrible worldwide, right now even worse.

right now was a radio smash but did badly on digital sales

prove that GP wont be shoved with a song they dont like.

It all goes back to gimmicks. She was new, she was fresh during that era- and she did all these ridiculous things. But when she was established, she finally got to the piano or a simple dance/singing performance and in my opinion slayed better than before. Also, Marry the Night on Alan Carr=the greatest performance from her.

They weren't all based on gimmicks. And even when they were, they were carried out perfectly. And I'm talking mostly about the piano performances during TFM era. The Brit Awards acoustic version of Telephone (where she changed the lyrics for Alexander McQueen) and DITD was amazing. The Grammys with Poker Face and Elton John during Speechless. The AMAs with BR and Speechless. The Ellen performance. They were all sooo good, and they weren't based on gimmicks. They were just good creative performances.

I still want to see how a Gaga single will do without promotion and a music video  :coffee:

Maybe in that way you guys will understand  :emo:

But why would Gaga be stupid enough to do that?

Sorry but the VMA'S 09 and Brits were the highlights of her career. Look at the rest of her performances in those eras and then compare it to the BTW era. BTW>

But BTW didn't have a single VMAs 09 or Brits. What does that say. lol.

i agree. the only things we got from BTW was good performances.

i really loved those performances. although some are bad, there were many good ones compared to TF/TFM era.

Despite the fact that MTN and Judas flopped. It was the best era of her life. Her fashion, performances, songs, appearances, everything was perfect except for 2012 grammy's but still the best era.

PIU peaked in the Hot 100 when it was a urban single, it had cero promotion and no music video at that time.

plus it was released WW and to pop radio after two months of it's original released.

that was a terrible strategy.

should have been just a urban single. songs like that hardly do well WW

Well to people who didn't like her at the time, it definitely did come across as gimmicks. I was a huge hater of Lady Gaga because of, in my opinion, the lack of good music from her and the idea of these gimmicks trying to save the bad music. Then she totally blew me away with Born this way, the album, and I became a huge fan. When I compare these performances, without a doubt they are gimmicks to me versus her easiness during the BTW era.

No. But her Britney time (in terms of promotion) will come some day  :creepflop:

applause is underperforming for a lead single. All those you mentioned are third or fourth single. it is obvious that they wont do better than lead or second because people already bought the album and sales will be lower

applause on the other hand is a LEAD single. It is not performing Good for a lead single. as a single, it is performing well though.

underperfomring =/= flopping though

just not living up to expectation ans the potentials it had

But as MANY people have voiced on MULTIPLE accounts, Applause was released to no momentum and virtually no hype outside of stan bases. People are under the impression that a lead single will do well merely because it's a lead single and I have to just say that's really oversimplified. Songs perform in accordance to how well they click with the GP and how much exposure they get. Applause hasn't had much exposure because Gaga hasn't had much exposure. Don't compare everything to Bad Romance or BTW. We're all aware of how radio treated Applause in the beginning.

Also, plenty of singles have proved to sell extremely well beyond album release even though the album has sold well, so I don't believe that.

Sorry, but I think the fashion during pretty much all of BTW was terrible. TFM fashion was >>>>>>>> x1000.

Although she made up during Yuyi and MTN eras. Her fashion was spot on once again. Especially during MTN. I loved loved loved those outfits. It's a shame it was at the end of the era when no one cared anymore lol

They were good performances (not of Judas, every Judas performance was downright terrible, but the Grammy noms was a highlight and so was every Yuyi performance), but not even near the same caliber of VMA09/Brits.

BTW grammys, MTN EMA nad grammys >>>

I did love the Grammy nom performance, of MTN and Yuyi. If only she had started out the era with that lol
