Everyone should be prepared for at least one flop this era. Not everything she releases will be a hit

im sure we already prepared for that after MTN flopped and Applause underperforming.

venus should be okay. the decisive single would be the 3rd one after album released and not supported by fans.

if 3rd one flops/underperforms then the whole era lose steam - BTW, Unapologetic, UJ (Treasure kinda underperformed and now gorilla is suffering)

in contrast if the 3rd one doesnt underperforms, the era will most likely turned out to be great - TF, TD

just something i observed from the trend. not 100% accurate but still it is logical if 3rd flops then the era probably suffer a lot

It's pretty laughable that Unapologetic only had two hit singles, and then died, but Diamonds and Stay had HUGE longevity.

Ok y'all from now on we're gonna consider LoveGame, Alejandro, You and I, and TEOG under performances too. :awesome:

Hell let's just call everything that's not JD PF or BR an underperformance

If Rihanna actually cared, she could have had more hits. Jump and Numb >>>

But PIU (3rd single from Unapologetic) did good in the US.

actually was the Right Now the one to blame.

apart from that, I agree wTvgw.jpg

yea. i think the reason third one flopped is because those two are too huge and overshadowed the next single

like YDO flopped after WFL. thats the timing issue. and blame rihanna on not releasing videos and doing promo for her singles. she is becoming lazier.

TEOG on Howard Stern was my favorite. BTW Grammys was good. MTN EMAs was good too.

But nothing mindblowing. The entire era was consistently good performance wise, but altogether it was a huge tone down from her the standards she previously set. imo.

It all goes back to gimmicks. She was new, she was fresh during that era- and she did all these ridiculous things. But when she was established, she finally got to the piano or a simple dance/singing performance and in my opinion slayed better than before. Also, Marry the Night on Alan Carr=the greatest performance from her.

applause is underperforming for a lead single. All those you mentioned are third or fourth single. it is obvious that they wont do better than lead or second because people already bought the album and sales will be lower

applause on the other hand is a LEAD single. It is not performing Good for a lead single. as a single, it is performing well though.

underperfomring =/= flopping though

just not living up to expectation ans the potentials it had

Pour it up really didn't do so great. It peaked at 19 and did terrible worldwide, right now even worse.

i agree. the only things we got from BTW was good performances.

i really loved those performances. although some are bad, there were many good ones compared to TF/TFM era.

I still want to see how a Gaga single will do without promotion and a music video  :coffee:

Maybe in that way you guys will understand  :emo:

Sorry but the VMA'S 09 and Brits were the highlights of her career. Look at the rest of her performances in those eras and then compare it to the BTW era. BTW>
