The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2 down to #3 OMFG

Mess. He shouldn't have done 2 volumes, and he needs much stronger material.

What i don't like about the Fox is that they're trying too hard to try and make it the next Gangnam Style.

Yeah. Sadly, Gangnam was never meant to be a viral hit. Like, Psy was actually serious with that ****. lol. It just happened to smash. Ylvis and his label are trying WAY too hard to make this happen.

Billboard's article about it today was spot on.

I don't know about this whole pre-album 2nd single...you guys do realize that Applause is still stable in the Top 10 on iTunes, and has yet to peak on radio, right? Additionally, releasing a single when one's previous single is still big on radio, even if it's declining, has proven to not work out so well. For examples, look at We Found Love and You Da One, Mirrors and Take Back The Night, and, to a lesser extent, Stay and Right Now. Granted, those songs (We Found Love, Mirrors, and Stay) had far higher AI's than Applause, but the idea still stands. I mean, unless Applause begins to tank all of a sudden, I honestly see no need to release something new. There are plenty of other ways to build up hype.

The question is how quick will radios latch on to the second single or are we here for another Applause-like run ( )

" Still, with an album as heavily promoted as "2 of

2" -- with two recent festival headlining gigs and

several talk show appearances to its credit -- it

surely would perform better if it had better

music than "Take Back the Night" and follow-up

single "TKO" (currently at No. 54 on the Hot 100)

to lead it."

that shade. lol.

True but not all times. Look at LOOH, WIWYM and Treasure, they're not bothered by their big airplays.

But yeah, I still stick to a post album second single.

Hello Mr. Radio

Fewer people buy her singles once the album drops. It makes more sense to release it before hand.

Again, it will not be true at all times. A lot of artists release their 2nd single after their album release.

Though most of them usually doesnt have a big opening week sales for their albums.

So yeah, it might affect the 2nd single sales.

I still can't believe Mirrors was one of the biggest radio hits of all time and it has barely passed 2.5M. :rip:

Oh wow :lmao:

Radio's overplaying of JT is annoying.

At least the best song of 2013.

Actually, those big airplays are converted to his album sales, not on his singles.

That pretty much sums up how I feel about. He's a great pop artist, but he's really wasting his time with the 'two volumes' gimmick if he doesn't have the solid material to back it up. That's probably part of the reason Gaga ditched the idea.

Hopefully, he'll learn from this and bring out a really great record sometime in 2014/2015 rather than taking another several year hiatus making mediocre movies (which would be suicide for his music career at this point tbh).

Apart of me feels like she really over promoted and got in people's faces with her "antics" that this time the people have to come to her out of their own curiousity.

What would happen if she actually did the same amount of promo she did for applause. Like, people still see her as, LADY ****ING GAGA. She's Gaga. She could be more focused on her career and the longevity of it, as opposed to potentially risking negative criticism.

I'm really torn with how I feel right now, I tend to view things from all directions it could go. Who knows.

Yeah, he should have waited at least early 2014 to release his 4th studio album - just to make the gap between V1 and V2 a little bit longer than half a year. I guess they just wanted JT's total album sales for 2013 push around to 3 million at the expense of a 4th album chart disaster.  :rip:
