dynamite 54,477
The Wizard of Oz is sacred to me. The performance looked cheap and the re-inactment was very literal and not very forward-thinking. I’m sad to say I’m quite dissapointed. Also, she definiteley should have chosen a higher key for “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,†a song that’s very important to me, too. This!!! It's my all time favourite film and has been since I was a kid. SayCart 8
I thought she was talking about the writing/producing process? Not the actual album era? Still confused tho probably she did feel free but at the same time she felt like the gaga persona was killing stefani with all the make up and wigs. At least now she knows her intentions. Paper Planes 340
It was a cute performance. I liked that the audience was album to be included doing something. :) And Fozzi was ADORABLE. delete it fat
StefJAGermanotta 2
Yessss! I don't see any other popstar being so theatrical nowadays. I love that in Gaga, because she can play multiple roles in different performances, and most of the time she just nails it in such a classy way. This performance may not be my cup of tea, but if she wanted to do some 'Gaga of Oz' performance and that was the goal, she managed to do it in such a very well executed way. I don't care if she gets recognition for that outside the fanbase, but it's just so silly to watch fans dragging her for something she worked so hard to do, and it's not even a music video or a really big deal like that. This performance was obviously meant for the GP, not the fans. And the GP probably really liked this performance, you can tell by the iTunes charts at this exact moment. She's doing fine! Anyway, it's fascinating how she puts such effort in her performances, even when it's just a live performance of a lead single in a morning show. Most popstars simply go there and sing the fxcking song, y'know? Such a lovely woman. Spilling more tea I see! It's VERY interesting to see her being so family friendly--this is something ALL age groups can enjoy, especially the grade school set which the moms would be delighted. So Moms (face it, they have all the purchasing power) will buy Gaga material. I know if I were 8 years old and never heard of Gaga, I would fall in love with her if I saw this performance! It was very well done and her singing Over the Rainbow was impressive and showed off her musical genius, which older age groups and seniors would respect as well. I think the GP would appreciate the performance even more as it was so well executed and done, and showed so much respect to GMA with the splendid sets, instead of just showing up and singing/twerking. I'm NOT a prude (in fact I defend Miley as you're supposed to be outre for the VMAs), but I simply cannot see ANY Miley performance for fear of her twerking which makes me cringe in FEAR! So it seems that the GP probably wants to see true talent and a family friendly performance at this stage (pun intended) as they are frankly sickened by Miley and Thicke antics! And Gaga delivered! I don't understand why so much people don't like the performance. I loved it. It was true art performance, cute, told a story, great vocals, little dancing, gif material, what do you want people? To sacrifice Fozzi to Satan while kills herself by playing 2 pianos with her pu$$y? SLAYED!
Matias94 0
This was actually better than I expected. Vocals were on point, costumes were amazing and the setting flawless.

DXPE 924
The consume changes were way better then they were at the VMAs. Also she sounded good. The best performance of Applause yet tbh!
Queen Gloria 3,457
Wow, I just woke up to see this. Her vocals are just incredible here. She killed it! Probably because there wasn't as much stress and as much dancing as the VMAs, she really nailed her vocals. The whole performance was cute and well put together, very nice. Omegahedron 173
Ok. So, vocally that blows out both VMA and iTunes, but I really didn't think the set or the Oz theme did her any favours . . . it looks like a kids TV show, like Playdays. Not the sort of Avant-Garde that Gaga usually goes for.
