That's great.. But for anyone bashing Madonna, it only took Madonna a week to get that record while it took GaGa 4 weeks.. Let's just be happy for GaGa instead of this bull****..

As amazing as this is, it's a pity most of those 52 countries have very small populations whose music markets aren't huge, so it's easy to get a #1 preorder there. She missed out on countries with much bigger populations like USA, Japan, India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Bangladesh, etc. China doesn't seem to have albums charts so we don't know what she's selling there. As we've seen with Madonna's record, breaking preorder records doesn't mean you're going to sell millions. In some countries you might only have to sell like, 10 preorders to get #1. Unfortunately, no one cares about preorder records when the actual first week numbers come through. Hopefully this time Gaga doesn't have any 99c deals hanging over her, so no one can complain about the initial figures. MDNA sold 359,000 in the US in the first week, but 185,000 of them were acquired for free via her offer when you buy concert tickets. Yet no one picked a bone with her over that except us. Having 440,000 copies purchased for 99c out of 1.1 million is nowhere near as bad as having 185,000 copies purchased for free out of 359,000.

And we'd also better bask in this moment while we can because there's the very real possibility that Adele's next album could break this record.

must you always leave research paper essays everytime you comment?

Haroon

It's stayed in the Top 5 of Worldwide iTunes "since release" for a month or so, and the album hasn't even been technically released yet :lmao:

wot

The title is changed now. But it stated that Gaga broke the record when it came to pre-orders in sales which is not true since MDNA had 108k pre-orders and Gaga 50k+. But now it's changed, she broke the record with most #1 pre-orders.

Daenerys

Reductive, she copied Madonna because Madge did it first.

:derpga:

Daenerys of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, The Unburnt, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Queen of Meereen
