DrewStevens 5,249
My opinion on the semi-final 1 Songs that qualified to the final Armenia - It's a great song with a cool concept. The performance was pretty amazing visually. Sweden - Beautiful song and the vocal performance was great. The song is pretty good. Iceland - Meh. The mix of styles is not original at all. Russia - Is not bad but it's not really good. Just ok. Azerbaijan - She has a great voice and the song is beautiful. Anyway I don't think is a enough to win. Ukraine - The song is basic and it sounds like a Disney Channel song. The performance was good tho. San Marino - It's ok but it's not really a good song. Netherlands - The screens were everything in that performance, but I feel like the song doesn't have a climax, it's just plain. (And personally I think it sounds like any other country song that gets overplayed in the US) Montenegro - It sounds more like a soundtrack from a movie. Nothing special. Hungary - It's a great song and the performance was good. Songs that didn't make it. Albania - It was ok. Nothing special and pretty boring. Belgium - Boring and his vocal performance wasn't really good. Moldova - The dubstep, the vocals and the melody and don't match at all. Bye. Portugal - It sounds like Kat Deluna/INNA. Basic. Estonia - Basic song with a great performance. Latvia - Was that a bad joke? My personal picks: Armenia (Aram MP3 - Not Alone) Sweden (Sanna Nielsen - Undo) I think Sweden has more possibilities of winning than any other in this group. Michael 533
Azerbaijan's songs is one of my favourites, I think it's absolutely gorgeous but Dilara MURDERED it live. I don't get how someone can sound so flawless on a studio recording and then so dire when singing live?
Bellatrix 34,639
By the way, did you notice that they cut down on the French this year? If I didn't miss anything, they only said the qualifying countries in French

I don't get how someone can sound so flawless on a studio recording and then so dire when singing live? Yes the high notes were horrible haha. For a moment I thought that she might not qualify, but it is impossible since many Muslim citizens around Europe vote for turkey or Azerbaijan mainly. Since turkey is out, Azerbaijan scores everything.
MonsterMum 2,532
I remember looking at the points given to the Netherlands by other countries last year and a few things stood out/ were noticeable. We didn’t give any points to Germany and neither did they gave us any points. Belgium – Netherlands gave each other 12 points The “heavy†and dark song of Anouk got a lot of points from countries that also have more “serious†nature like the Nordic countries. I think this is gonna be the same for this year, with the exception that I think Ilse and Waylon might end ranked 5-7…a bit higher then Anouk last year. I wouldn't mind us hosting the ESC next year but I think that's not within reach.

Luc 4,775
Yes,I noticed. Sad tbh. It was kind of a tradtion Actually when Netherlands win,I could attend I am so happy about it tbh. The French stuff was so annoying. Like puh-lease, accept that you're irrelevant has-beens with a language only relevant in Africa

MonsterMum 2,532
Yes,I noticed. Sad tbh. It was kind of a tradtion Actually when Netherlands win,I could attend It would be a nice change too tbh! But let's be honest, they might slay now, let's see how it is after tomorrow. When the 2nd semi finale has been, there might be another great surprise. I honestly thought this semi finale would be the better half and it dissapointed a bit so in a way I'm not surprised that the Netherlands stood out, production wise and visually it was tight. Hopefully tomorrow Poland will be good too but I have a feeling her performance and "dressing up" of the stage is gonna be basic.
