Interesting that no one chose the same date as Gaga. Clearly she's still a force to fear.

And damn, I had no idea Kelly Clarkson was releasing a new album! Seems kind of odd, considering the competition. She's always been someone that does best with less competition, and probably would've fared better in the spring. Same goes for Rihanna, so for her sake I hope she bows out of the November race and saves it for next year.

Billboard just tweeted this (GagaKylie on the dance charts):

http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/code/5687194/daft-punk-sends-dance-into-top-10-on-dance-chart-gagas-applause?utm_source=twitter

GAGA GOIN': Lady Gaga scores a third week at No. 1 on Dance/Electronic Songs with "Applause" and each week has come with a special chart honor. First, the track was the chart's greatest Airplay Gainer, then Streaming Gainer and, this week, Digital Gainer. After she performed "Applause" to start the VMAs, the song returns to No. 1 on Dance/Electronic Digital Songs (2-1; 213,000, up 31%).

"Applause" also soars 20 spots up Dance Club/Play Songs (39-19) as the week's Greatest Gainer. Remixes of it from Danny Verde, Steven Redant and DJ White Shadow, among others, are impacting clubs.

As long as Applause stays steady, it could be #1 for awhile. Unless Billboard will classify Britney's new single as electronic/dance.

I think it also sold quite a bit before it was released as a single. Didn't only sell like 2.8 million or something like that during its single era? Even that is pretty good though for just 7 weeks in the Top 10.

Just A Holy Fool

I think an 8-10 week top 10 run for Applause would be great considering the slow radio support.
