US Charts Discussion

Americano

The sad thing about US charts is that radio plays on LOCAL radio stations don't count.. I contacted mine and it doesn't contribute apparently..

Wow this is pretty cool, Kworb just added a countries section on kworb which includes prediction on this week's sales and last week's sales. Only got US for now but he'll add more countries later.

I'm confused, didn't Applause sell 184k last week? Oh maybe it's cause kworb doesn't include sales from other digital retailers?

Really cool. A totals column would be nice too.

Yup. The REASON why Katy Perry and Rihanna get 3M sellers with every single is because their single eras are extended. If Applause is still trucking in October, I'll be furious if they even think of releasing a single to radio.

I mean, look at the gap between Diamonds and Stay, Sept. 25th - Jan 8, almost 4 months.

  The more reason why I'd still wish for her to release (or at least push) the 2nd single until the start of 2014. Applause is clearly growing, and just like others have already said, the worst for them to possibly do right now is kill it by releasing a second single that would take away its growth on radio. If they want to build momentum for ARTPOP, there are always the promo singles to do that job.

I agree. I don't think it's necessary to release a second single before the album like her and her team seem to think. Just release one or two promo singles and let Applause keep growing. Single eras are typically three months anyways. I'm sick of Gaga's single eras being two.

Agreed too.

Last week is the sales that we'll get tomorrow, he said the list might be a little inaccurate in the beginning but will improve over time. But at least we can see that Gaga's sales have improved this week.

Applause on the biggest music markets (iTunes):

#6 US

#19 UK

#18 Australia

#3 Brazil

#9 Canada

#21 France

#17 Germany

#14 Italy

#29 Japan

#42 The Netherlands

my country has bad music taste. Although Miley and Britney are doing very badly.

Top 10 in those countries via other selling paltforms. So in actuality only Australia is a big issue. (She had a nice run in the Top 10 in UK)

Holland hates her lol

Nooooo we love her it's just that like 95% of the music here is pirated :emo:

Applause should have been released in early July. I know she wasn't still ok after the surgery, but at this time the only competitor was Blurred lines, so she could have gone #2 easily. And what's most important, the difference between the first and the second single would have been around 4 months which is super.  I fear that releasing a second single before the album will kill Applause and it still has life in it.

A big part of Applause's longetivity is thanks to the VMAs though.
