Gaga said the album version of MANiCURE is way different than what we heard

Y'all should stop talking about MANiCURE since the studio version is 'extremely different' from the iTunes Festival one. Also, y'all should stop thinking if we get the 2nd single because there's no way in this world that she could get 10 MILLION votes to unlock it... if she really meant that :rip:

 Ok, that may change everything

I'll explain. First of all the title is something that a big part of the GP will reject because of the stereotypes (eventhough the title has other meaning). Also the song has an epic rock production which makes me love the song but it's a big risk because rock is dead from the 90's. The new generation will either embrace it and make it an iconic smash hit or reject it completely. It' my favorite song from ARTPOP from the first moment but I think that it's risky. On a more positive note Gaga performs this song amazing and she will give us legendary performances. Sex dreams on the other hand, is catchy and innovaive. It's also controversial but not as much as some make it feel. The most controversial word on the whole song is s-x and that is not such a big deal. Also eventhough the song talks about a realtionship between homos-xuals, it's about 2 women and this is not a taboo like a relationship between 2 men (I honestly don't know why). Furthermore it feels kind of cool.  I love both songs and I don't have a problem with any of them becoming singles, I love it when Gaga takes risks. I just think that for a second single Sex Dreams is a better and wiser choice.

ahm I kinda agree !

But you miss 2 things:

1stly  the chance of MANiCURE being rock Influenced is almost 0% .... She said that It sounds a lot different on the album version and I know why, Instead of the guitars, the album version is really EDM Influenced... Now go find the live version of the song on youtube and listen the background melody when Gaga is singing "HEEEEAL MEEEEE I AM Addicted to love" can you hear It ? It's s'th' EDMish  but they just kinda removed It from the song, just how they removed a lot of EDM elements from Sex Dreams (you can hear the difference between the Itunes Fest version and the version that was played in this Boujis club in UK)

and 2ndly I don't think that MANiCURE is controversial, It's not even risky, but you're right this MANiCURE thing is really girlish so ... It's somehow a risk, while I do agree that Sex Dreams is not as controversial as a lot of people are making It out to be, It's still controversial ..

I don't know I just can't wait to see how things will turn out to be like !!!!!! :excited2: :excited2: :excited2:

I do remain optimistic though that Interscope won't give Applause the ax for awhile. The clue is that "Applause - The Remixes" hasn't been released yet...which usually occurs towards the back end of a single era. In fact, a RELEASE DATE for the remix album hasn't even been announced! If the era were ending soon, the remixes would already be out by now.

It will be a nice sales bump too, during a time when sales have declined a bit. :)

Just adding onto this, when the remixes do come out, buy each track separately people, so that those sales will count towards the single sales of Applause!

I'm still confused as to what's making people think Aura could slay. It's already out there, and it got quite a bit of press when it leaked--unlike the other songs that got debuted at the itunes fest, Aura had it's own moment in the spotlight. Some radio stations played it, critics talked about it...and the consensus was that it wasn't reacted to very warmly. And when it was forced to share the spotlight at itunes fest, it seemed pretty overshadowed by peoples' reactions with MANiCURE, Sex Dreams, ARTPOP, and Swine receiving most of the "holy sh*t, this is good stuff" commentary.

If you're talking about what songs you want as singles from a personal place, because singles get more elaborate videos, and live performances, etc. then absolutely, I understand suggesting Aura (it's def. not one of my faves from ARTPOP that we've got so far, but I def. do prefer it to Applause a 1000%). But if we're talking about what would "slay," there's really just no evidence whatsoever that should make us think that this is a song that's going to reconnect Gaga with that really broad audience that "slaying" requires.

Remixes count as single sales :omg: That could be a HUGE sales bump. Especially if we buy them separately and there is 5+ of them. And will it bump Applause on iTunes? Or just on hot 100?

:legend: TEOG's power as well. It should have been the lead single and the BTW era would have been so different and full of commercial slayage.

I know imagine... :(

Dangerous Man

If MANiCURE sounds girly, then it will smash real hard.

Adele approves.

If they're bought separately, and not simply as an album, than yes, they do. It won't show up on iTunes, but if there's enough sales, it could (minimally) help her on Billboard, if I'm correct. The only thing is that it's almost guaranteed that not enough people will purchase them, so there really won't be an impact on any charts. The real goal here is to boost her overall sales.
