I think the biggest problem many members have isn't necessarily that you're offering an opinion we don't like, but the way it's being offered and referring to the positive people as being part of a 'hive mind'.

When majority of your posts focus on your thoughts of the doom-and-gloom of the ARTPOP era, it's kinda a buzzkill. We're here to be fans, here to critique, and here to have fun.

When someone comes in and majority of their posts are negative about Gaga, it's frustrating. By all means, share your opinion, but also balance it out with what you DO like about the girl so it doesn't look like you signed up just to diss on her decisions.

And premiering your music video in Times Square, opening the iTunes festival, performing on GMA, getting radio interviews, opening the VMAs, having your video watched 50 million times in three weeks, having your stuff promo'd at the Apple event, being in the Top 10 (out of EVERY SONG IN THE WORLD), etc. etc. is not flopping. It's not the success we're used to, but to call it unsuccessful is what's delusional, imo. She might not be dominating, might not be at the top, but she's still holding her own quite well.

The album isn't out until November, though. She'd probably save some of the bigger promo opportunities for closer to the release date.

Biggest applause goes to you.

I think you don't understand what stable means. She HAS remained relatively stable in the number of itunes copies she's pushing, and her spins have actually started to pick up on Pop.

I'm not saying she's smashing--she's not. And hell, I agree with you that the song and video are nothing special. The song's not just one of my least favorite of her singles, it's one of my least favorite of her songs, period. But your opinion is just as clouded as the people you're complaining about. Your own distaste for the song and video is coloring the way you see it.

Any way you slice it and regardless of one's opinion of Gaga's current artistic trends: the song is not meeting expectations, but it IS proving to be a stable, modest hit stateside.

I agree the song isn't super fabulous, but I do love the video. (Or at least the imagery in the video)

The song is different in the vocals- how many people put those kind of theatrical vocals in their songs now? It's very Bowie, and that in itself was experimental- I give her props for that.

IMO, the song is both awesome and basic. I think what really made me start thinking a little less of it was after I watched her perform it on the iTunes festival- after all those other songs, Applause just seems so simple. Everything else we've gotten from ARTPOP so far slays it.

U delusional Stans needs to understand what a flop is... If her album and tour tanks then you maybe correct... But a 1.29 single does make make or break an artist...

Remember lmfao with 2 insane singles? Where are their tours or album sales or Forbes ranking?

Or Katy with her 10 #1 rent a rapper singles... Or Gotye or Carly Rae... What are their Forbes' ranking?

We may kid with floppage in terms of MTN and Applause but get a damn reality check when you talk about one of the highest money makers currently...

Once again, you're charts watching a 1.29 singles...

Well she cant possibly release a 2nd single at this point. Its a war-zone right now. Might as well wait til Applause dies and release in mid October.

I kinda wish she released Applause earlier. She couldve beaten Blurred Lines before it got too big, WCS wasn't really a threat, and no Katy Perry. Now she has all these big names to deal with, and shes kinda just fading in the background.

Omg @americano's thread :lmao: Looks like many monsters aren't even aware of Applause's situation WW and can't have a discussion. Whatever.

@the new troll: oh please. Do you even THINK before writing!? FYI Applause was getting only positive updates for more than 48 hours, it's not done YET. It's doing good, though far from the expectations we had. Yes, Applause isn't a great song nor Gaga at her best but stop calling it trash and worse than The Fame's fillers'. If you can't express yourself without trashing then don't even do it.
