Bitter 3,640
The excessive amount of Christmas and year end songs getting airplay will suffocate any song released after a certain point in November on radio, which will inevitably stifle any sales the song would be getting. That's why. MANiCURE xmas remix feat. holy spirit
VforVendetta 2,024
I don't think that the Christmas freeze is something worring because it affects all songs. If all songs freeze then there is no problem because the songs will rebound after the freeze. Its like pressing pause.

He has a point that as October drags through, the hit potential gradually gets smaller. That's why Aug/Sept/early oct are jam packed with single releases. kupo 201
The Christmas freeze likely makes it a bit harder to pick up momentum with a single, but it should hardly be an insurmountable obstacle. Sh HAS to release a second single to carry the album during its initial release. Applause turned into a moderate hit for her here in the states, but it's not looking like it's going to be big enough that it can sustain the promotion of the album through its November release. I'd say release the second single late-ish October. That way it has time to establish itself before the holiday stuff starts to take over, and it would still be pretty damn fresh for the album release.
