Not just Europe. Europe, Asia, Latin America, South America, South Africa, Oceania. Even countries from the third world support Gaga.

Everywhere on the web in polls Gaga beats Katy, her views are more on YT as well. How the heck she's more successful then? It doesn't make sense it's obvious people like Gaga more and all the positive feedback how they love her again and that the song is amazing, etc.

Yup, I think people are just overreacting. Let it settle down and we will see who's here after all the hype wears out.

Someone alrady said that, you cannot judge how these countries ´love her´ according the sales on Itnues in developing countries, as you can buy 10 copies and you are number one there. She needs to win over US/UK, as these represent the biggest digital sale market (thousands people buying copies). I know it looks good that she is number one in 50 countries, it is really misleading in terms of sales and popularity.

I think she'll be successful in the UK, all though I completely agree, even if you're successful in those markets this doesn't mean you're popular there. Gaga sells out arenas a couple of times in the US and stadiums in the UK, Katy can't do that. So popularity doesn't equal success.

And not just in developing countries, I mean in some developed countries like in Finland iTunes is so irrelevant that you'll get the #1 spot even if you sell just a handful of copies.

People need to stop. Applause is being sold through the album preorder too, so Gaga has sold more than Katy even though Katy is higher than her on the songs chart.

I dont suppose, it is because people listen to music less than UK/US population. I think they just dowload it from free sites, dont they? Like in my country, nobody buys any singles, but everybody have them in mp3 and phones. Is it in Finland like that as well? it is just intruiging for me, how the Anglo saxons countries are keeping their Itunes marketing culture of buying singles in contrast to the rest of the world. (not relevant to the topic, though)
