Last time we did that with the VMAs, Rolling in the Deep came back from the dead and put all the pop girls to shame and stayed at number one on iTunes for another week. I feel the same will happen with Blurred Lines. Unless Gaga outright steals the show. I feel like Gaga is only wearing that face make up for now because she's trying to make some statment about how she's the canvas and the artist ("I'm the Koons, the Koons is me"), and that she'll be doing something different at the VMAs.
