I'm impressed how many Spanish names and comments there are on Gaga's Applause videos. She's really big in Latin America.

I feel like if the lyric/audio video didnt boost the song, then the music video won't. Or am I just loco?

Lyric videos don't have a good chance of reaching upwards of 100 million views, so I think the bigger indicator would be the music video. Plus, music video views now count to the hot 100 and are not only just promotion for a song... :hehe:

Does anyone know when Katy is dropping the video for Roar? I assume she'd want to steer clear of this next week...

It's from that tour that she discounted all her tickets and only half the stadium was filled... you know, cause she's "such a flop".  :flop:

GMA, apparently. GLAD she described the video as "very pop". Hopefully that means what WE think, and not that she's gonna be fingering herself with cheerios and corn flakes again...

good morning america barely have performances unless its summer concert series lol im pretty sure its just an interview and then the music video premiere.

I would think so too. But maybe her label sees the trouble Applause is having to get over Roar's success and they will keep competing with Gaga. Who knows.

Alot of people start to like songs because of their videos, or at least me. Loads of people could buy the song just because of it (for example Telephone wasnt even top 20 in the UK and it went straight to #1 when the video premiered)

Also music videos gets alot of press/promo = more exposure for the song.

I think Gaga's team isn't doing anything of its underperformance because of the rush release. Starting next week, when they had planned to release, is probably when they'll start worrying if it falls. So we should all just treat this a bonus week. :)

Most reactions I've seen for Applause and Roar have been in favor of Applause over Roar. So how is Roar still selling so much better than Applause? The whole radio reaction I can kind of understand, since radio has always preferred Katy, but the iTunes dilemma is confusing. At least Gaga seems to still have strong streaming power over Katy.

BTW did good actually before the video came out. I dont know I feel like the views are strong so far but it's not effecting anything. I'm not so crazy about #1 like I was in the last era but it's weird that her song is falling and she's gathering views. Maybe people are waiting for the 99 cent amazon promo again so they don't wanna waste money ;)

On another bright note, I'm fairly certain that Applause will get a boost on iTunes on the weekend, since big dance tracks usually do. And it's clear that Katy's won't benefit from that.

It is an interesting situation... Applause does seem to have a stronger reaction than Applause (if the official audio, streaming, radio polls mean anything), so why is it declining on itunes and below Katy? I guess the video really is important for Gaga...

Let us all remember that Ciara stans tried to claim that she was going to end Beyonce's career with "Love, Sex, and Magic", then Single Ladies happened...

Yea every site I read, even Perez Hilton's, prefer Applause with over 50,000 votes. There's something odd about this

They really did? What a MESS of any fanbase thinking they could rid of Beyoncé's power as an icon. :smh:  Beyoncé will forever be untouchable by anyone at her current status. :whitney:

Maybe the albums pre-orders will sell more than 200k

And I mean why wouldn't they? I'm being subjective, yes, but Applause is just so much more engaging and fresh sounding. Roar literally sounds like an outtake from Teenage Dream, and it's just so boring. I think the truth is that a significant chunk of it's sales are being driven by it's massive radio exposure.

Applause is preferred more internationally, so it will get more views.

But more Americans have heard Roar on radio, or heard it more often.
