Unheard Beat 0
omg guys i just found this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Awrah sounds like aura no? You're brilliant in finding this! I bet you're right about it being "Awrah," instead of "Aura." Upon reading the article, I find it interesting that even a woman's voice is considered to be an intimate part of a being that needs to be limited religiously. That would so fit this song. Great job, btw
ChicaSkas 22,404
omg guys i just found this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Awrah sounds like aura no?omg IMPERFECTION... she's skewering their beliefs on what is and isn't perfect ... wow Do YOU own the 4' by 6' Perfect Illusion promo Poster? EnigmaMonstr 26
"Behind the aura, behind the curtain, behind the BURQA" Wow this is a hell of a song. Idk whats up with that first verse though. Im sure itll be corrected in the final version. I totally see how calling this song Aura would help defer from the controversy of calling it Burqa. Unless it really is Awrah.. which is also really clever. However, women are not allowed to speak in a soft or alluring voice That totally explains the voice shes using. addiicted 19
I'm NOT gonna read 85 pages so - no idea if already posted - but I'm pretty sure she says "I killed my former and left her.." and so on. like her former persona - lady gaga. makes sense with "looking behind the curtain", dying hair black and so on Edited August 6, 2013 by addiicted
EnigmaMonstr 26
do you guys remember a long time ago when she tweeted HAhahahahahahahahaa? maybe she was referencing buqra? This!!!!! I can't lie, the "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH" part literally starts making me laugh my ass off. I dont hear "former friend" I hear "I killed my poor friend". I just dont hear the two syllables of "former"
ARTPOPSYCHOLOGY 6,254
Read the title and OP of this thread. Thank you. That doesn't answer any questions, where is it confirmed that the song is Aura and not Burqa, especially considering the *u*q* tweet with Zedd
BrilliantBoi 1
Born This way the album was not an album about "being" free, it was about being inhibited and desiring freedom in various ways, and that's why this new era makes so much sense. She HAD to do Born This Way first (although I thought that record was going to be her breaking free of some of her machinations and restrictions, but that was not so, since she illustrated many of them further and they stretched and strained like a Dali painting), but this one is the aftermath, and so it will be about the "unveiling" of her and her more complex talents that have become suppressed and her deep artistic/poetic intent that would honor what she truly is, and the Angel on the back of her head (JoAnne, and yes I know it was for Terry's Mother, but I still think it is JoAnne). Imagine 10 years from now when she's incorporating the New York Philharmonic and projections and dancers, and paintings, and electronic music technology, performance art, and say that you always knew that she would be the preeminent artist that she grew to become. I KNOW I SHALL.
