The tracing paper was for her to painting her name and then be scanned and placed onto the cover.  Why are you so sure that your theory is correct when it clearly isnt?  She was trying different things and chose the one we have now. Her mouth is open, just slightly, as though to ask whether we approve. The blue makeup (paint?) runs downward like tears; the red/orange almost completely misses her lips and stains the tip of her nose. The jacket frames her face as though closing in on her like the curtains. I have a degree in Fine Art, I know what processes people do to create a 2D piece like this. There are two pieces of tracing paper one with her paint on, one with red text. Deal with it.
