Ratchetry 0 Posted August 9, 2013 Share Posted August 9, 2013 tbh i dont get how people are still trying to compete gaga with katy in these two upcoming eras. im not putting down katy but her career is completely different from gaga's. I hate repeating this bc it almost sounds like a cop out, but if gaga wants to make a radio friendly album, she will do it. I feel like she has a Kanye-ish viewpoint when it comes to her work: some things are better left for the pop culture world, and some things she does are better off for her artistic growth (i.e. Graduation vs. Yeezus) if you want complete constant slayage and approval in the GP mindset, gaga is not the person you should look for to do it. katy is a pop star first, musical artist second, overall visual/performance artist last (thats why she got some slack in the first teenage dream singles, for being too "gaga-ish" in her looks and performance.) gaga on the other hand is a performance artist first, musical artist second, and gp pop star third. i kind of see a concern for katy perry, especially in this forum, instead of celebrating the return of gaga and having confidence in whatever she has to offer us this upcoming era. by trying to outdo katys career, neither the fan base nor gaga will prosper with applause/AP. .
