That is just my opinion of course, and I'm pretty sure people will disagree with me. Bad Kids sounded air-thin during the chorus (and no, saying that he tried to recapture disco is NOT an excuse), in contrast to the kick-ass and crunchy introduction. Highway Unicorn has a great hook, but certain parts of the song were a bit off, like how the exposition was way too long (I had to cut it short on Audacity to make it listenable) and the ending was definitely way too long, and somehow still managed to end abruptly -.- BTW was messy. And if you read reviews from other music people (e.g. PopJustice), about earlier versions of the song and how it compared to the latest one, they thought it was really quite a drastic diffference. Personally, found it very noisy. But credit must be given where it's due: Government Hooker, Bloody Mary (one of my faves on BTW) and EOG all sounded great. I hope he's matured as a producer in this album, and hopefully, Applause will help him show what he's really capable of.
