Jesus, the 1D might debut at #1 with all the sales and streaming. But it'll fall in the next week and stop charting like in a month. Their singles don't have any longevity so they're not a threat. As far as Ariana is concerned, she could debut in the lower regions of the top 10 like with her first single. I don't know if she'll outpeak The Way but it's possible depending if Baby I can keep hold of its current position for the next few days and doesn't start to fall.

I still can't get over this "Baby I" title. Everyone who thought this was a good title/hook should be banned from the music industry.

It doesn't matter if 1D won't last they just need to dethrone Blurred Lines so this song can stop climbing, after that Gaga can snatch the number 1 to anyone else than BL.

I won't place my official prediction until the end of this week. Too early to tell if 1D can dethrone BL for a week.

I'm hoping 1D debuts at #1 for ARTPOP's sake :laughga:

But it's normal for 1D songs to have a MASSIVE first day or two, then their songs start to drop very quickly. We'll see if their label's attempts to prevent this work this time.

Robin Thicke's album debuted with 25K in the UK.

That's 10K less than Femme Fatale, which wasn't supported by a million selling single over there. Those are atrocious sales considering the HUGE hit that BL was over there.

Seeing as that is the case in the UK, I will lower my predictions for Robin's album to 150K-200K in the US.

One Direction's song is not going to last. This week will by far be its sales peak and it will probably sell only 1-2 million copies in the long run. The same thing happened with their last lead single. It won't get enough radio support or support from the general public to be a long-term smash.

It's hard to tell how high they'll debut without waiting a few days. They probably won't be #1 on iTunes by the end of the week - probably not even until Friday - but where they debut depends on how many copies they sell today and tomorrow. #1 is a possibility and I think top ten is guaranteed.

I just really want ARTPOP to get that #1 spot. :legend:

The Billboard Youtube stuff is in place now, right? Everyone will be clamoring to see what Gaga comes up with for her new video.

Not really surprising. "Blurred Lines" has done so well on the strength of the song itself, not exactly the artist. Having your song overshadow you, the artist, is never a good thing. He'll probably suffer the same fate as Carly Rae Jepsen to a lesser degree since he's already semi-well-known.

Plus, hasn't he released 2 singles since "BL" that both tanked?
