AURA 2,890
After Alexandra Stan was beaten by her manager she reveals stunning things about her career. Her manager was the one who didn't let the radios in Romania play her songs. He was the one that announced on TV that the radios don't want to play her because she doesn't follow the trend of singing in romanian, another big lie from him. Her US tour that should've happened in the summer might get cancelled. He constantly reduced the promo for her because he was no longer interested in the project, but it had a bigger start than INNA's and I'm sure that if they continued to give her what she deserved she would be much bigger today. I can't believe what's happening behind the scenes lol Her biggest hit/the one who made her known internationally, Mr. Saxobeat, was number #1 in BB Dance Chart for 6 weeks. Apparently, before her, only Madonna & Lady Gaga topped the chart for so many weeks in a row. Dangerous Man 9,245
Hot Dance/Club Play Songs: #10. Come & Get It - Selena Gomez (+17) Greatest Gainer of that chart! As if that chart is important. jk. Congrats to her. okay Bruno fans, we have another reason to celebrate. lol "Bruno Mars scores his second Adult Contemporary No. 1, as "When I Was Your Man" lifts 3-1. He first burst onto the format with "Just the Way You Are," which reigned for a whopping 20 weeks in 2011. In between the two leaders, Mars added the top 10 "Locked Out of Heaven," which reached No. 7 in late April (and ranks at No. 11 this week)." "A little less conversation and a little more touch my body." Emvee 7,865
Nope, but it's no longer dominant. Wouldn't you say that the only reason why dance pop is no longer dominant is because the major dance pop artists who push it have been on hiatuses. Gaga, Katy, BEP, Britney, Usher pushed dance pop a lot in 2010, Nicki hasn't tried to release a dance pop song since Va Va Voom, Same for Rihanna who hadn't done so since WHYB before RN was released. But even so, electronica still finds itself within the top 10. Radioactive, Get Lucky, Come & Get It, Clarity -- that's 4 out of 10 itunes top 10. Electronica is deeply seated in our generation's palettes. It's a type of music that has been brewing since the 90's when most of us grew up and people won't just suddenly dislike it over night. We just need artists to push it to the next appropriate and progressive level -- not regurgitate the same **** for four years. Obviously, hard underground techno music won't do well on top 40, but elements of it should be incorporated. It's a process of mixing conventional and unconventional over time and I hope Gaga is doing that. Edited June 18, 2013 by LoveGaym
Remus 54
#4 :) It did pretty well worldwide... I pasted its peaks below. Other than France, it's done the worst in the US. Australia (ARIA) 3 Australia Dance (ARIA) 2 Austria (Ö3 Austria Top 40) 3 Belgium (Ultratop 50 Flanders) 8 Belgium (Ultratop 50 Wallonia) 15 Canada (Canadian Hot 100) 21 Czech Republic (IFPI) 4 Denmark (Tracklisten) 29 Finland (Suomen virallinen lista) 4 France (SNEP) 46 Germany (Media Control AG) 17 Hungary (Dance Top 40) 5 Hungary (Rádiós Top 40) 16 Ireland (IRMA) 6 Netherlands (Dutch Top 40) 29 New Zealand (RIANZ) 15 Poland (Dance Top 50) 4 Poland (Polish Airplay Top 5) 4 Scotland (Official Charts Company) 3 Slovakia (IFPI) 8 Sweden (Sverigetopplistan) 3 Switzerland (Schweizer Hitparade) 24 UK Dance (Official Charts Company) 3 UK Singles (Official Charts Company) 4 US Billboard Hot 100 38 US Dance/Electronic Songs (Billboard) 6 US Hot Dance Club Songs (Billboard) 1 US Pop Songs (Billboard) 24 *Edit - I take that back. It's officially doing the worst in the US. It's #23 on France iTunes and also worth noting it's #9 in Canada. wow, that's amazing. I wonder if the song did wonders worldwide because of Ellie Goulding's vocals? or Calvin's production? I wish it did better in the US. It would have sustained Ellie's relevancy in the American music market.

The number of charting dance tracks this year is about half what it was a year ago. I honestly don't even know why people are debating it at all when it's so clear Radioactive, Come & Get It, and even Get Lucky I wouldn't even consider dance. People won't ever completely get over dance music, but people get bored... It's human nature, and they've gotten a bit bored with dance music. Mariano 958
yes definitely but I think that the material this year isn't on the needed level ... I think Gaga with a huge lead single will definitely bring back the freshness of the Dance music in the top 40 radio .. atleast I hope so
