Sure, she has her good days, but 'missing the mark' when it comes to extremely high profile people like Gaga is just not acceptable, in my opinion. Learning by doing is what most people in this business do. Given that they have did their own style. It just the matter of taste when people choose a team. Her tour makeup (especially the first legs of MB 2.0) is usually pretty great, and her work during the BTW era was actually pretty great, imo. She definitely plays around with the style of makeup, which is respectable.
