Mm I dont think so. She can say she wants to perform at the north pole, but its Live Nation we are talking about, and they ended up regarding the government's behaviour on the matter publicly, and suing the promoter, so I dont think they are in the mood of taking any controversial big performer there.

Its kinda the reason why these kind of artists dont visit Malaysia either, its worse there though. Some time (and some changes of minds) has to pass by.

I'm wondering about this too. You know that she's desperate to perform for the fans who wanted to go last time and make her mark on the country, but it looks like the evil forces in that nation won't go down without a fight. This is part of the reason why I don't want her to put that Burqa song on the album, because, respectful or not, these people will find a way to twist it. I mean, Gaga's singing about how much she loves God and they call her satanic, so she can't win. Now, remember that upon hearing about the whole situation, the government in Bali gave Gaga the opportunity to perform there, seeing as it's part of Indonesia, but is away from the chaos, the religion is different, s-xuality is more accepted there and it's a popular Western tourist destination. However, they didn't make it clear where she would perform. The only stadium there holds 25,000 people and it's unclear whether it's used for concerts. To cover all those tickets sold, she would have to play at least 2 dates there and I'm sure what with the chance of her being assassinated being high, she probably wouldn't want to spend too much time in the country. I think it's so unfair that she got targeted. Kylie Minogue and Katy Perry performed with no problems in Indonesia, although that's probably because they performed in a tiny auditorium, so went un-noticed, but Jennifer Lopez performed at the largest arena in Indonesia recently with no problems. They're all as s-xual as Gaga, so what gives? Just goes to show how much of an worldwide star she is and how much of an impact she's made, I suppose.

Well, a surprising amount have toured there. Jennifer Lopex performed at a stadium there last year and she's very s-xual. Which is weird, because Beyonce was going to perform there for her I Am...Tour at a stadium, but it was cancelled due to religious protests. I've also heard some fans say that Gaga's banned from Malaysia too. So, what's with the double standard? How come J-Lo gets away with it?

Definetly not next year. People still hate her there (although also there is a lot of people that love her). She might go in 4-8 years, depending on her safetiness :)

basically, the initial reason is Gaga's provocative and s-xual attire. People see her more provocative than other artist in the way she perform and dress. and her role as GLBT activist also take a huge part into make the extrimists hate her more. but I think the main reason is her illuminati rumor, which is widely believed by the extrimists and even more moderate muslims (even not all of them). Add all of them into the fact that she is (one of) the biggest popstar in the planet and her concert is making such a big news in the media. I think in Asia, an international star like Lady Gaga is more hyped than other artist when she comes to their country because of her reputation and antics. J-Lo got a little protest for her s-xy image but managed to hold the concert without problems. Beyonce, Katy Perry, and Kylie doesn't get the problem because they are not known as GLBT activist and they're not seen as "illuminati icon" (although they may support GLBT and rumored as iluminati too, but not as big as Gaga).

Hmm, yeah, I did consider that too. Part of the fear was that she'd turn the whole country gay. And she is one of the biggest suspects of being an Illuminati follower. It must be sad to live in a place where people believe every piece of news they hear without question. In the Western world, people are more jaded and don't believe the media. But some of the world still live with a "the internet says it, so it must be true" mentality. There's no use explaining to extremists why they've got it all wrong and their theories don't make sense because they haven't been raised to question and make up their own minds.

i don't think live nation will take the risk again, even if the show was cancelled, i think the promoter lost some money with the negociations, the schedule, the location renting.. maybe if the country found a certain social peace.

I think if it was in Bali it would never be a problem. But as posted above, Bali doesn't have capable venue for it.
