I was so worried that switching directors between the first and second film would have a negative affect, but he is better than the first director. I can NOT wait to see what he does with Mockingjay pt 1 & 2. In my honest opinion, the first movie was really weak. It has this "indie" vibe that I appreciate but it was subpar at best. The old director focused too much on staying faithful to the book so a lot of the character interactions were just glossed over then moved on. The second movie completely chopped off the first bit of the book and somehow it worked I was shocked with the bold decision but it paid off.
