I recently translated this French interview from 2011 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0P7QHdLSQmU) and so I think it could be helpful if I post it! (Sorry if my english is sometimes bad, I did my best! I'm a young french Gaga lover!)

David Pujadas: There are days where the ambiance is electric in the journal's corridors; like promise, I receive now the phenomenon of the pop music and dance; Lady Gaga is with us. Lady Gaga it's 70 millions of songs sold, a lot of awards earned, hysteric scenes in her shows, the immoderation, the provocation... Good evening Lady Gaga, thanks to be with us, because your appearances are scarce.
We'll talk about your new album, Born This Way.
First, at only 25 years old, do we get used to a such success? I want even say, to a such madness, because this success exceeds widely your songs' one.
Lady Gaga: Thank you so much, David and hello France, I'm so happy to be here and yeah, I'm 25. *laughs*
But I feel like I'm 50! It makes 2 years I'm working on this album.

David: You noticed this ranking made by The Time, who made of you, few months ago, the most influential people in the world, just that; and they emphasized on your obsession about the fame. What is the most important for you? The fame (as a way of life), or the creation?
Gaga: The fame is a creation. In each of us there's fame, you can be who you want to be. Whoever you are, wherever you live, whatever how many money you own; it's an ambition and individuality question, and don't forget that we are all born this way.

David: Then, to those who don't know you yet, here's some images, some notes about your last album; by Nicolas Demarnier.

***

TV voice: Name: Gaga; Title: Lady; Job: Pop icone

In Rome for the gay pride, this week-end, wherever she sings, there's one motto for Lady Gaga:
Gaga, in the report: I am a child of diversity, I am one with my generation.
TV voice: Born This Way, first title from the new album: a music video viewed more than 59 millions times on internet in only 3 months, an album sold to 1 million of copies in one week.

Whatever she's loved or hated, everybody knows Lady Gaga:

Reporter, to 2 old women: Do you know Lady Gaga?
2 old women, at the same time: Yes.
Old woman #1: She's dotty.
Old woman #2: Ahah yes, I agree!

TV voice: Thousands magazines tell her debuts with her piano, also her debuts in a cheap rock band.
But between a dress made of meat and a parade for the famous dressmaker Thierry Mugler or Jean-Paul Gaultier, the singer confuses the issues again and again.
Lady Gaga pocketed at least 90 millions of dollars with her worldwide tour, she's the most followed artist on internet and she's even going to create her own social media. It promises for the future.

***

David: Have you every liked eccentricity, the immoderation?
Gaga: Yeah, I guess but when I was younger, I didn't trust on me. I wanted to be myself, but you know I was in a French strict catholic school, Le Sacré Coeur, so it was harder for me to express oneself but when I reached my 18 years old, I said to my parents that I want to go out alone, to live alone and become an artist with solidarity, because I ever thought it exists, and this was an huge moment for me. When I said this is what I want to bear, what I want to say, what I want to create and what I want to be; this is what my new album is about, this album, Born This Way, is actually about these new borns. We never born but we Reborn, and due to reborn, then we find ourself.

David: I think we didn't notice yet your black gloves and your red nails. So the nails are pasted to the gloves or there's a slit on your gloves, to allow your fingers pass?
Gaga: No, there's a slit. I just cut the gloves so they can be noticed. You know I often cut my clothes or accessories.

David: Oh yeah, so it makes an hand-made accessory. Well now, I suggest you to listen to some parisians we interviewed. You heard about these 2 old women who said you were dotty, well we met 2 persons...
Gaga: very dotty *laughs*
David: ...that were talking about you, on Les Champs Elysées, earlier today.

***

Random guy #1: Well Lady Gaga, you're just amazing I love your fashion style, it's unseen, you're incredible and France adores you.
Random woman #1: I love your songs but I generally don't like your fashion style, especially with all the young persons who are watching you and following your actuality. Why so much extravagance in your style?

***

David: Report made by Diego Garcia. Then, why so much extravagance, is this not too? Like said this woman, and especially, Lady Gaga, is this art or is this marketing?
Gaga: I adore showbizz...

David: You love showbizz, you love to provoke too?
Gaga: Well, of course but I love being considered like a provocative, but I especially love theatre, I'm really a theatre child. I love the music-hall, I love play, I love Edith Piaf for example. I love cabarets, this is things that are always inspiring me. I live my life with a lot of fantasy that are my reality. There's not difference between the woman that I'm in public and in private. In public, I'm in private. That's all.

David: So, that means when you're at home, you're always Lady Gaga, or do you wear a jean, a simple t-shirt like everybody?
Gaga: No, I'm still Lady Gaga and I'll forever stay Lady Gaga.

David: Also, there's one dress which I would like you to give us a comment. This is this famous dress made of meat; 23 kilos of meat in which you were recuperate an award, recently. Why this dress?
Gaga: Well actually, I worked a lot to defend LGBT rights and equality in world, and I made a speech against about the law who wants that in the army, homosexual people can't say they're homosexual...

David: Yes but, what is the connection about the meat?
Gaga: Well, I said equality is actually the master piece of the american constitution so this is somehow the "best piece of meat". I wore this during the MTV awards; it was just to get involved for equality, just to say there's nobody who worth less than another.  So it was to protest. I don't know if it has been understood but this is how the idea came in my mind and  I somehow am glad that you were asking questions about it.

David: We see this image of you at the Rome's gay pride yesterday, does it means (because we often hear your message like, "be yourself", "be proud of you", etc.)  that it's also a politic commitment? Do you project one day on doing politic?
Gaga: Yes, I'm an involved person and I'm involved in homosexuality rights, in liberty rights. And I have a message, a mission. I'm not a politic woman but I'm maybe someone who can help young  people, help young couple, and help growing kids who maybe don't understand these laws who establish descrimination. So how to be the "spokesperson" of this generation, how to show that this descrimination, this intolerance is something grievous, and this has a global impact on young and citizens people? And this is what I want to do: getting involved for this cause.

David: Last question, when we pronounces her name you apparently leave the studio, we're talking about Madonna ; but the question is asked by someone we met in Paris today.

***

Random guy #2: I don't really know you, I'm not listening to your music, you're not really in my musical generation but I just want to know why you're pretending to be Madonna? Because Madonna is in my opinion, inimitable.

***

David: Have you ever thought about imitate Madonna? Do you recognize you in her?
Gaga: I love Madonna, Madonna is queen and I adore her. And of course she inspired me a lot, I don't think there's a woman on earth who is comparable so thanks to this beautiful compliment finally.

David: The very last thing: does there's one french artist that you particularly like?
Gaga: I'm always listening to Edith Piaf  when I'm in Paris; I shouldn't smoke but I sometimes do, I take an expresso at the coffee bar while I'm smoking, listening to Edith Piaf and dreaming of Paris.

David: Edith Piaf, again and again. We know you really love her. Thanks a lot Lady Gaga to have been with us and to have been our guest tonight. I again say it, you released your new album Born This Way, one week ago. Thanks.

I don't speak German but I try.

Much can be learned about Lady Gaga from her early interviews.  They reveal that she was always focused on helping her fans.  They also show that she has always been a good, caring, positive person with strong traditional family values.  Many interviews explain her metaphors and the meanings of her songs. This list of interviews is ordered by the date of the interview, or when it was first released.

If you have a link to another early Gaga interview let me know and I will edit it into the list.  The show must contain an interview segment and not just a song performance.

Can't find it.  Maybe someone on GGD saved it, but it's not likely.
