no, because i know the grammy's is just a promotional opportunity and the grammy committee never even heard of metacritic. which is why i don't put it in the same league as the oscars

i'm fine with it being another award show that awards generic popular music and major label artists as long as it isn't taken seriously as an important award show anymore that isn't rewarding the best of music.

Metacritic is one of the WORST tools to ever judge anything. Its completely made of opinions of self-entitled reviewers with zero expertise of any sort.

If I was to only buy albums and video games based on metacritic, I would only be listening to alternative unoriginal hipster crap and playing ****ty FPSs and milked game franchise with no substances games

The Grammys promote their nominated artist like any good academy should but after it has found success which is perfectly fine. Half the movies released in December need the Oscar buzz for promotion, you don't see how fake that is?

Your point is reaching more and more every comment you make  :ARTPOP:

i know the oscars is shameless for this too, but the movies are just better choices compared to the grammy's and their choices of music. even if they get the winners wrong sometimes.

i dont think anyone can deny that.

i don't think so. i don't like EVERY song on The Fame but i don't think it can or should be denied that its a great pop debut from her and generally speaking. kendrick's album is good and i think its placement on this list is fine. but i don't think its better than The Fame.

i meant to say that it just feels like another pop album; where the singles overshadow the rest of the album.

If I remember correctly some of her singles surged in sales and in the charts after "Kanyegate."

She was riding that wave all the way to the Grammys and the win.

And I'm sure that has nothing to do with the fact that she performed at the VMAs the same night Kanye interrupted her speech, the fact that she had singles on the radio at the time, and she was doing a bunch of other awards show performances around the same time.

Kanye did not make her famous; she was already huge before him.

he made her famous to people that didn't care about her before

and i wont be surprised if that was the reason why she won a grammy

So basically you just disagree with the Grammy nominations. Okay you have different taste. Whatever.

Fun. was the best band last year. The production, the vocals, won them those awards. I like No Doubt a million times better and they flopped last year, so?

and when did I say Kanye made her famous? Oh right I didn't.

She was just another Carrie Underwood until Kanye gave her the biggest pity party the media has ever thrown.

fun is an indie maroon 5

the black keys were arguably the best band nominated that night

but then there were bands like grizzly bear, tame impala, japandroids, passion pit that released better lp's that were still pop enough to get recognized but sadly just didnt sell that many albums.

Gaga is Life

#100 does seem quite low, but then again there are many albums out there and to make this list it amazing :legend:
