I will 100% stand by Ellen not deserving to be canceled to the extent that she has been. She’s been treated like a serial rapist, not a mean boss. Why is it only ever women who manage to get canceled? Her and Lizzo literally had their careers ended over things that deserved to be called out in the public eye and rectified, yes, but would not have been career enders for anyone else. Laugh all you want but a huge reason gay people are accepted today in the United States is from people having a gay woman in their living rooms every day. Icon, and I hope public perception shifts for her.

It was more than just "mean boss" tho - there were SA accusations in the workplace, people fearing for their jobs for taking medical leave, racial aggressions etc.

I do agree about her being a huge part of ushering the queer community forward, and it's unfortunate because the show WAS a lot of fun and silliness and sparked joy.

Honestly, since she’s now in the UK and how big she was in the US—and how much the British public don’t care about US public perception, I’m shocked she hasn’t gotten a UK based show yet. Especially since the UK is much more controlled behind the scenes in TV, she’d NEVER get away with being able to do the stuff she did in the US because we’re big on unions etc.

I’m shocked ITV hasn’t made her have a talk show to compete with Graham Norton.

I mean given the BBC's attempt to let Norton retire from the late night game via national treasure claudia winkleman failed, I don't think an american most people dont really know that well has a chance tbh

I could be wrong but I'm guessing both Ellen and Lizzo's fanbases were predominantly women, whereas controversial male figures might have more of a male fanbase, so maybe women are more likely to cancel celebs?

But at the same time Lizzo isn't really cancelled, she's just not released good music since, but if she suddenly made a song better than her previous hits it might still become huge regardless of her controversy

I think the difference though is that Claudia is good at The Traitors as a basic host but she isn’t a good interviewer (in my opinion anyway) she’s so clunky and not good at making people feel relaxed I think. It was a problem I always had with her years ago when she used to host all the old music interview shows on daytime TV.

Plus Graham is in the celebrity world and has connections from decades of knowing people, Claudia doesn’t. At least Ellen does.

Ellen should probably just start a podcast tbh. She’d still have enough supporters who’d probably tune in. If it was interesting enough I probably would.

Lizzo wasn't cancelled, people just got bored with her. Nobody outside of stan world knows about the dancer drama tbh.

As for Ellen, yeah it's a bit excessive, but that's the risk when you're selling your personality. People find out it's not only fake but entirely opposite of how you are off camera and they won't care to watch the show anymore.

She’s a guest this week on Graham Norton, I told y’all she’s trying to kickstart her UK TV host career. This is the first step being in the biggest talk show in the UK.

Shia LaBeouf?

This is what makes it so upsetting for me. She gave a lot of representation, and she helped with pushing rights forward and addressed numerous problems in politics on her episodes. What a shame...
