I said Joanne era. It wasn’t marred by negativity like ARTPOP. It wasn’t cancelled like Chromatica. It wasn’t larger than life like TF/TFM/BTW/Mayhem/ASIB eras.

Just a unique era from her where she was very vulnerable and unsure, but was filled with constant small victories.

It was the only era from her for a while not to be Front-loaded

I voted first for The Fame because it was a moment there no expectations and she was just hungry and wanted to do it all. The Fame Monster was a great continuation to that at a bigger level with a stronger fanbase.

But honestly I feel like I wouldn’t change anything about the Born This Way era even if there are always fan favorites we want music videos for but the era itself was Gaga at her creativity peak. Starting with the VMAs announcement, New Years announcement, Scheiße mugler in Jan, Born This Way in February, Government Hooker mugler in March, Judas in April, Hair, The Edge of Glory, album release and my first ever Gaga concert (Monster Ball) where she played Americano for the first time, Judas as the encore song. Music videos and performances all the time, interviews, Gagavision, Born This Way Ball, Gagacycle promo everywhere on the subway etc. it was just the best year to be a fan.

Gaga’s singles ranked based on a combination of charts, sales, and streams.
Did I say anything that wasn’t factual? MTN flopped. Why did it flop? Cause it’s not a single worthy song, like some of the others on the album. And let’s be fr - government hooker, Scheisse, heavy metal lover, Bloody Mary all could’ve had EPIC amazing MV.  MTN music video is the only good thing to come out of it being a single..but that’s it . And again, only this fan base knows about it.

basically, MTN did nothing to help promote the album..

The thing about MTN is that it was Gaga's personal fave song on the album, so she probably felt like she HAD to make it a single - Yes it did flop on the charts but mostly because by the time it was made a single, pretty much EVERYONE including the GP already owned the whole album, so single sales were much lower than the previous ones - She didn't released it just to sell more albums, she basically released it for her & the fans, giving us the MV, physical releases, and live performances, imo it was the perfect ending for the BTW era:applause:

You're speaking to an ARTPOP apologist. Your chart positions mean nothing to me. The Marry The Night video was and IS transcendent. Just because the public didn't latch onto it does NOT make it less worthy.

That is a reflection of THEM (they stan like Migos, Justin Bieber and Chris Brown) NOT marry the night.

We can criticise the single choices, but I genuinely believe that any other selection of singles would have left a lot more singles peaking in the 70s and 80s on the Hot 100 on Gaga's record.

You are right.

I personally think the 5 singles chosen for the era were the correct ones to promote the album, just released in the wrong order. IMO, she had the choices of BTW-MTN-TEOG as the first three singles right there ! The riskiest were Judas and You And I, with the latter being the most risky, I’m surprised it was a moderate hit in US. I would have released those last tbh. Sort of like this:

1. BTW (February 2011)

2. MTN + Album Release (May 2011)

NO PROMO SINGLES!!! They always ruin the eras and she should let the first two singles shine!

3. TEOG (August 2011) Imagine this at the VMA’s+ a better MV!!!:nooo:

4. Judas (November 2011) After 3 top 5 hits, she pays homage to herself with a controversial topic/ song again. The MV could be more outrageous and controversial tbh…

5. You And I (February 2012) a great ending and closer for the era. By this time the first 4 singles would have been huge hits so this risky track could fly under the radar and just start the tour. A medley of YAI/TEOG at the Grammys would suffice.

Mayhem Is pretty neat and logical from many aspects. The gap from disease tò album launch was long and some more content in that periodo would had been awesome but thats a fans perspective.

Maybe the MOST all rounded era.

The fame fame Monster all her eras have lots of ongoing metamorphosis, It adapts as It goes.

Reject False Icons

TF for sure but so i would make Summerboy a single

she gave everything countless promo, countless live shows, anywhere everywhere worldwide.

What they don't tell you is that after that debut era no artist works that hard ever again, it's like all artists spend their later years traumatized by what happened in their debut years :bradley:

VOLANTIS

I genuinely wouldn't change a thing about Born This Way sorry. The questionable choices kinda made that punky rock star era VERY c*nt.

I'll lift you 3 inches off the ground and drag you to a meter and a half
