Gaga era you wouldn’t change a thing about

For me, the fame is the flawless era.  Perfect album art work, perfect singles selection, MVs, performances, fashion, interviews, etc.  the fame ball tour is great as well, again the costumes, setlists, everything.  For a debute and beginner budget era, it’s beyond!!!!

the fame monster is a close second. I do wish we got a MV for DITD. We got the tour DVD which is amazing.

BTW was not flawless… the single choices were a mess and overall a let down for the fans.  Marry the night was a WASTE for a single, the album has way better tracks.  Judas was not a great choice either, for obvious reasons.  TEOG and You & I surprisingly were the best singles (and BTW obviously) but overall, they played it too safe and we should’ve got Bloody Mary, heavy metal lover, and or scheisse. The music videos are aight, but BTW and TEOG in particular bring down the MV group. Other than that, fashion, performances, and interviews are good. And then of course the broken hip is a tragic ending to an amazing tour. We should have got a tour DVD! 

ARTPOP, I don’t need to explain why. 

joanne..just not my cup of tea, all the music videos  and single choices are boring, except John Wayne, but John Wayne is a horrible homophobic/racist person so it’s kinda odd for a progressive woman like Gaga to use him as a figure of a fantasy.. performances and fashion are underwhelming as well.

chromatica - again, bad single selection. Stupid love had no right being a single. Only good moment from this era is rain on me and the tour. Thank god we got the tour dvd.

mayhem - probably 3rd or 4th place for best era.. but it’s unsatisfactory for the same reason as BTW that so many great songs got away and should have been singles.  The dead dance is an abomination that should’ve never happened.  Otherwise interview and performances are great.

One could always complain about bad single choices, but that's very subjective.

But I hope we can agree that if the The Fame era didn't go the way it did Gaga probably wouldn't be where she is today. This career debut is unmatched!

Imagine Taylor Swift now but bigger and better (also shorter )

I’d still change a thing or two though, Summerboy and Speechless would be singles. 

Her other albums have a lot we could re-do.

The Fame and Cheek To Cheek are her best eras from a planning structure.

Like everything was perfect. 

The ONLY thing I'd change about Cheek to Cheek is the album cover.

Born This Way easily. It's surely the most all-out she's gone for an era.

Five (later six) singles and five music videos, a remix album, a genuine world tour, several all-time career classics, a whole album dedicated to the entire message of her career (self-expression and love), her best tour stage, countless incredible talk show and award show performances...

People complain about the singles, and that's because we would've loved a video for some of the other tracks, but I genuinely believe that Scheiße is one of the only album tracks that actually would have worked as a single at the time. The other tracks are frankly, broadly, too weird and too campy. Even Judas didn't really blow up at the time, and was considered a bit of a fan favourite until extremely recently when it started to be reappraised.

We can criticise the single choices, but I genuinely believe that any other selection of singles would have left a lot more singles peaking in the 70s and 80s on the Hot 100 on Gaga's record.

The Fame Monster was perfect, even if it were just 3 singles. 

I personally loved Stupid Love and Marry The Night as singles. 

And for ARTPOP i wished this were the first single

i'm choosing chromatica only because of the covid-19 pandemic

i'm glad she took it seriously and halted everything. everyone likes to point out how dua lipa kept her album going but she was also vacationing like it was no big deal whilst we were all taking steps to be careful and protect each other, staying home when possible and giving up a lot of our lives... seeing her jet around like she was above us all was f*cking irritating and it's even more irritating that people use it against chromatica

it was a shame that a lot of her huge plans got cancelled but at least some were recycled for mayhem, which is arguably the better of the 2 options given her attitude towards pop music being more positive

the other eras all have something i would change: TF era would be longer, the spacing between TF/TFM/BTW would be better as to really let these albums shine and not exhaust her, ARTPOP speaks for itself..., Joanne could have been more interesting visually

Mayhem deserved a final single or at least surprise music video to close the era instead of a random netflix song and had an opportunity to connect the tour to requiem with a video concept around the destruction of the opera house and discovering the ruins years later

In the likes of GUY, perfect illusion, stupid love, disease, etc.  nobody in the general public knows it or is gonna sit down and watch the 10 min music video.  I’m sorry, but again- BTW has so much more potential and idk why Gaga and her team thought MTN was ever gonna be thaaat song. There’s better songs on the album that deserved an epic MV.

I know people will say Judas was a mistake but it’s presently extremely popular w young 20 somethings so…Gaga getting her day in the sun w that one imo.

what I would change is provide a doc to go along w mayhem. It feels like it just kinda came to us and we don’t really know much about its genesis compared to her other albums and it makes me curious especially as she found her way back to herself w that record.

other than that, it’s been a journey and I’m on it

Did I say anything that wasn’t factual? MTN flopped. Why did it flop? Cause it’s not a single worthy song, like some of the others on the album. And let’s be fr - government hooker, Scheisse, heavy metal lover, Bloody Mary all could’ve had EPIC amazing MV.  MTN music video is the only good thing to come out of it being a single..but that’s it . And again, only this fan base knows about it.

basically, MTN did nothing to help promote the album..
