It wouldn't be Stephanie's first time for this. Back in 2018 she accused Sam Smith of cultural appropriation after Sam was critical of Michael Jackson. Stephanie used to date MJ a long time ago and is very protective of him. Maybe she doesn't like the fact that Gaga has MJ's old clothes.

Just gleaning from the story … someone from Gaga’s team reached out to someone from Stephanie Mills’ team to relay to Stephanie Mills that Gaga’s favorite song is “Home,” and to request that Stephanie Mills surprise Gaga at a photoshoot to sing the song; Stephanie Mills was hesitant, but agreed; upon surprising Gaga at the shoot by singing the song, Gaga appeared blithely unaware of the situation and Stephanie Mills, the songstress; Stephanie Mills was displeased at the engagement (and/or lack thereof); Gaga and Stephanie Mills took photos together, after which, Gaga’s team mandated Stephanie Mills delete all the photos from her phone / record … ?

Just top-line … it reads like a “team” issue … Gaga, from lens of the story, sounds like an accessory … Stephanie Mills, to be fair, had valid instincts … but/and Gaga might have loved the song and not known the singer … and/or known the singer’s name but/and not Stephanie Mills’ face … ignorance is not a defense, but Gaga didn’t make the request to be surprised … and her team didn’t seem to cover the bases 

But, again, as always, just top line media discourse analysis … I’m new and novice and just learning as we go along 

As far as the culture vulture claim … it’s a valid perspective from Stephanie Mills’ vantage and background … again, Gaga’s team didn’t seem to sort of expand certain aspects of her cultural lexicon … and that was to her detriment at times … but, again, just top line takes on the blink 

And, this probably reads like a wall of text but, it is what it is …

Really interesting point of consideration though … I do think, in her own way, Gaga will explore this cultural plane of reference / intersection more intentionally at some point in the foreseeable 

But/and/again, as always, just blinking salt grain observations into the airwaves … none of this might make a modicum of legible sense

I like Stephanie so respect her feelings....  it just doesn't sound like Gaga to be that cold.  Hopefully it was just a misunderstanding
