The funniest thing is, AI probably hurt me more than most people  I run some sites (commissions, affiliate etc boring stuff) and the latest year has been brutal, so much more competition it's unreal.

I've since diversified a bit more but it's a bloodbath out there and it's everything because of AI.

In a way, AI democratizes the web.

But isn't it accurate? 

I've been doing this since 2013/2014 and never felt this type of competition. Before, you needed to know how to actually make a site, launch it, maintain it, and have some sysadmin knowledge too. I needed to know all of that and more to have any degree of success.

Now someone just needs an ideia. That's why I say AI democratized the web, i'm feeling it first person.

It's an AI tool to helps artists with green screens, no more hours/days rotoscoping and keying, now if you want a background removed you just need to click 1 button.. and this is generative AI, but it's a tool at the end of the day, a tool to make artists lives easier.

Holy, I didn't realize AI was still such a hot topic here, I apologize for starting the argument  

I don't claim AI is good for everything, but it can be a really good tool that can cut menial jobs (like rotoscoping a green screen), not to mention AI medical applications, grunt code work, etc. It even helped me with taxes this year. 

For me, the important issues about AI are electricity costs and the whole grand discussion about AGI and where the AI race is leading us. I mean, Europe is already scared to death of being at the mercy of US companies and Chinese models. If one day they cut us off, we are back to the Dark Ages, so to speak. EU companies would lose the ability to compete on the global market, and don't take my word for it:

The level of progress of LLMs in the year 2026 has been insane since opus 4.6 and gml 5.1, and it's all coming from America and China, I've felt the progress and its honestly incredible stuff, the frontier models are very good now, and the year not even over yet. 

The thing about this whole AI race, imo, is: you better hope your country wins it.  I'm personally more worried about a Europe without AI infrastructure and without good AI models than anything; the world is getting weird, is america even an ally anymore? questions questions

imo gfy. I will never use AI for my design or art. AI is not a tool. It's a service, and it's theft. It also destroys our ecosystem. If you want to bootlick technofascism, that is your prerogative. Don't project your lack of abilities on me and my career. Thanks.
