LGAte 1,161
I think it makes complete sense. She is back in a healthier place and being a mom will be the most inspirational thing in life. I think given that she will probably spend the rest of 2026 with her baby and taking time on her side stuff, and she will begin to really write and create in 2027, that it would be safe to say the next record will be around 2028. The only thing I could see changing this is if in the next year she immediately wants a second kid. I also think this time waiting until 2029/2030 would be major mistake for her in terms of waiting to release music. There is a way to have children and still release pop records and the idea women can't do that is just plain sexist. Bey and Adele pulled it off. Gaga can. If she can squeeze in acting still, great. But I think she has stifled consistent music for too long that it might hurt her ability to access the audiences she wants to organically reach if she takes these long long breaks. She cannot wait as long as she did between Chromatica and Mayhem. She just can't. Not if she wants to have actual pop cultural influence. Just keeping it real. If she is really serious about "just getting started" like she said when winning all those awards last year and "not being too old to be a pop star" then she seriously needs to stop releasing an album in the 2020s every 5 years. If she wants to be an artist that doesn't care about hits anymore, fine. But I get the feeling she still wants to be a big act....and you can't be sporatic in your releases in this day and age if you want to capture people's ear. Waiting everytime that long and doing all this other stuff and then hopping back in and acting like a megastar is not possible to achieve every time. We were lucky that Mayhem worked out like it did. But you can't wait that long every era. Thats kind of treating your music career as a side gig. Release records. And great ones. Ones that are intentionally canon Gaga. Not side projects, not one-offs, not movie songs, not stuff for TV. Release Lady Gaga pop music as Lady Gaga. That's what people want from her! Side note: I wonder if the album will have a lullaby vibe. I'd love to see her combine classic strings with a dancey, uppity record. I'm hoping she uses John Summit, SG Lewis, and Rufus Du Sol type producers who can make that beautifully trance/hypnotic dance sound that is big but also delicate.
bxr 2,919
LG(202)8 … ETA: To be fair, for the record, I could see new music being released this year … or at any point, really … she has the music, it’s just about how she wants to release LG(202)8 is still fun mathemagical imagery though Edited 22 hours ago by bxr 1
Lucas 31,542
Imo the baby(ies) won't stop her from recording music and releasing it, the only thing is she probably won't have a tour for it. 2028 is the most optimistic scenario indeed. Controversiaga 17,097
No if she doesn’t release something next month I’m unstanning. It’s so selfish of her to make us wait this long for LG8 and then instead she goes and has a baby?????????????? Like she doesn’t care about music anymore???? Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Emphasis on the “Ga” 1 11
Cherry Blues 572
I think it's okay, Madonna had 8 albums in her first 18 years I think, LG had 7 - the best scenario is we get 3 albums in her 40ies. AVeryGagaHolyDick 32,279
She’s already really started working on her record. She said it back in December. She even said 2026 wasn’t out of the question, which means the start was solid. Of course the album can change a lot and take a totally opposite direction, but if we focus on what she said, LG8 don’t be released in two years. And when she said that, she was obviously aware she would have a baby in 2026. The baby’s 2/3months old and it didn’t pop out of nowhere. Yes, it is sexist to assume that women cannot do/don’t want to do both in equal measure- motherhood & pop "stardom." But you could also argue that there are equally sexist undertones to holding expectations for LG to do the opposite, simply to defy any “norms" or whatever. We shouldn't be comparing her approach to balance to the way Beyoncé, Adele or any other woman did it/does it. As far as her hunger for cultural relevency... she is Lady Gaga. This woman will have a loyal, built-in fanbase by default for the rest of her life, no matter what she does, & regardless of her release frequency. She knows that… & she is in no rush to prove herself as a "megastar" anymore. 🔮 I am obviously speculating here, but I personally think her priorities will shift so significantly in these next few months/years that she may seem like an entirely new person to some (perhaps stubbornly deluded?) people. She is a mom now. That is going to come before anything else in her life, forever after. As far as LG8 is concerned... I think all bets are off, time-wise. BUT I feel confident that she will not tour again for QUITE a while... not for the next album, & maybe not even for the one after that. For better or worse, I see residencies in her future. She has made it abundantly clear that she enjoys that type of environment. (& obviously it will be "for the better;" her family can have stability/routine & be together as much as possible, compared to the chaos of touring). But overall, we should probably just relieve ourselves of any expectations in general lol Which is kind of exciting... uncharted territory Edited 23 hours ago by NUTELLA

Creyk 18,811
She said she wants a football team amount of kids. I doubt she will just stop at 1. It's good if they are close to each other in age.

mlmc1995 325
I’m gonna be honest with regards to this I don’t think she gives a **** in terms of what’s best for her career or cultural influence or accessing audiences. She’s just had her first baby and it’s something she’s wanted forever, it’s a dream come true for her. She may release something, she may not, but I doubt she’s thinking about her life right now in terms of chart success. 5

River 128,748
please, the baby didn't stop her from wearing a new designer outfit, put on a wig on and makeup her face. Sis would tour with the baby, the nanny and Michael all together, just to make the fans happy. She's a workaholic.. So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy 4
mlmc1995 325
And I would add, nobody knows what she’s going to do and maybe she doesn’t either. Maybe she decides she loves being a full time mom and wants to take a decade off to have half a dozen kids. Maybe she ends up releasing LG8 in 2027 because that’s how her inspiration works out. There’s so many roads she could go down but I don’t think she will be influenced in any way by what she “should” or “needs” to do, I think she’ll do what is best for her and her family.
