Some of this discourse comes down to people that had no idea where Palestine even was three years ago and now believe they are the be all and end all of advocacy because they put a watermelon symbol on their social media. 3. Honest to god just do something yourself rather than relying on celebrities. It’s tiring because this whole thing has ended up a social media performative mess. I’m not saying Gaga shouldn’t say something - she should - but my god, it’s ended up with people counting Instagram likes rather than doing anything practical. I can only be of use in the UK but if you’re looking for pro-Palestine advocacy just drop me a message and I’ll pass on anything I know about future protests & demonstrations. How does standing up for human life qualify as "anti-semitism"? You can't call people who are against Netanyahu's actions against Gazans "anti-Semitic", but then silently sit there saying nothing about the clear attempt at genocide and Netanyahu's attack on Islams. Would you say that the people supporting Netanyahu and the destruction of Palestine and killing are anti-Islamic or islamophobic? I rarely hear the people against Netanyahu calling his supporters islamophobic, but around every turn, every corner, every little thing said opposing his genocide is called "anti-semitism", it's getting old. And also let's be honest, truly anti-semitic people wouldn't be standing up for Gazans, for Islamic people, anti-semitic people are majority white supremacists, they hate everyone except white people.
