Whats wild is there was a recent survey that showed increasingly younger generations are seeing these platforms as a major part of long term savings plans as opposed to stocks & shares or traditional savings. https://fortune.com/2026/09/07/americans-sports-gambling-investment-gen-z-75-cents-dollar-wagered/ The gays know how to party
StrawberryBlond 15,679
Look, I'm no fan of her or her penchant for using her looks to sell everything right now. But we need to stop overblowing everything she does or reading something sinister into it. This ad isn't about women's sports, it's about sports in general, most of them probably male-dominated ones. She's wearing American football gear at one point, a sport I've only ever seen men play (not saying women can't, just that I've never seen it). It's aimed at straight men who like betting on sports. And most of them don't bet on women's sports. So, it's got nothing to do with female athletes at all. It's about sex sells. That's it. Tale as old as time. To have this be read into as a Republican dog whistle is really something. As far as I was aware, straight men of all political persuasions like sports and hot naked women. She combines the two to sell the product. Don't try to claim this is more than it is. No one cared about this stuff years ago. There's no need to politicise a sports betting ad using sex sells marketing. Don't give it the credit of claiming it's doing something smart. Honestly, I'm completely lost as to what the party line is when it comes to acceptable sexuality among liberals. I thought the party line was that sex work is empowering, from modelling to stripping to p*rn. That women can do whatever they like with their bodies and should do so without criticism. That anyone who has an issue with it is a prude who's behind the times. Not saying I agree with all that and it's a belief that I find very difficult to get on board with as I prefer sexual expression to be much more contained and private but at least I thought I knew that this was the party line. But the rules seem to change when the woman is deemed societally attractive or when we don't like her. Suddenly, sexual expression becomes tacky, disempowering, catering to the male gaze and setting women back. Um, this isn't something you can change your mind on depending on the woman. Doesn't that go against feminism? Just sayin.'

Women have spent decades getting men to treat them as equals in sport, and then a male dominared sports industry firm comes along and hires Nazi barbie to reduce the idea of women in sports to male sex fantasies. Don't preach feminism when you blatantly don't understand the subject matter. Lol okay so your opinion is the "right kind" of feminism and mine is misunderstanding of the subject matter... Wolf Boy 3,631 Posted yesterday at 05:44 AM Share Posted yesterday at 05:44 AM (edited) I don’t care for her, but her whole product is “sex”, so……why is anyone shocked? She also knows how to stir the pot, which she has now done again, which is now giving her attention. Everyone takes the bait and she knows it. Just pointing out, if you're going to reference decades old political activism with well established meaning and goals like women's sexual liberation, its generally useful to actually understand the meaning and goals of the reference. As for it being "just a nude ad". Id suggest you go brush up on the meaning of sexual liberation within feminism since thats what you want to justify the ad with and also learn basic media analysis. windzo 815
I'm more annoyed at the fact the same kind of men who will love this ad. Will be the same ones who will throw a hissy fit if they see two men holding hands in an ad cause it's sexualized the kids or something. 1
TheARTPOPball 1,728
I mean is anyone suprised? It’s tacky and lame (just as the concept of sports betting apps also is) and I’d rather not have this mess popping up in my feed. I should be able to scroll through social media on work/school breaks without fear of a nearly naked body popping up on my screen as if I'm opening a purple snap or smth. and what about this is freeing? We had all these indigenous people, soldiers, and activists sacrifice their lives both willingly and unwillingly for our freedom and this is how we define “freedom” LMAO

As a fellow ice skating fan, while I get that, it's hardly aimed at participants of these sports. She just wants you to fantasise about her. Women sexualised around sporting equipment has always happened (tightening their hands around baseball bats, bending over at tennis, doing splits at gymnastics, etc) and yet it wasn't treated as a major problem until Sydney did it. It seems that people are only annoyed when it's her doing it because they don't like her. 18 hours ago, Wolf Boy said: I don’t care for her, but her whole product is “sex”, so……why is anyone shocked? She also knows how to stir the pot, which she has now done again, which is now giving her attention. Everyone takes the bait and she knows it. I know, it's her staple at this point. She realises any publicity is good publicity and a trademark's a trademark. It seems like she wants to do anything to get to the top so if that means courting controversy, so be it. The best response to this is nothing. That's why I don't think we should give her or the ad more credit than it deserves. It's just using sex appeal to sell a product, don't read anything else into it. 17 hours ago, MonsterVoices said: In just a few years she will be doing straight up p**n as her main carreer. Bookmark me. I don't know about that. There's girls who do p*rn while they're trying to make it in Hollywood (which will never happen if that's how you got your start) but she's already broken Hollywood, so she won't do that, although the landscape has changed a bit now that established stars are doing OF. There's every possibility she'll do an OF with just tame lingerie pics for a high monthly rate, however. But I really think we need to move past the concept of "you're not talented, so just do p*rn." A lot of disadvantaged women do just that because they think that's all they can do, which is very sad. And untalented men are never told this.
