Horny Chicken 11,124 Posted yesterday at 06:15 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:15 PM (edited) I prefer Whitney but Celine’s That’s the Way It Is and Hymne à l'amour are just as legendary as Whitney’s best songs and performances. edit: I have brain damage and forgot MHWGO Edited 13 hours ago by Horny Chicken
NUTELLA 30,065 Posted yesterday at 06:16 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:16 PM I feel like I was absent from the week of Gay School where we learned to appreciate these two 🤷🏽♂️ Both incredibly talented, but both inspire knee-jerk “meh”s from me

MACATL 2,168 Posted yesterday at 07:22 PM Share Posted yesterday at 07:22 PM I won’t vote in this. They’re 100% equals to me in their own specific lanes. They both feed my soul and blow me away for different reasons. Old school Mariah too.
gagzus 24,862 Posted yesterday at 07:29 PM Share Posted yesterday at 07:29 PM I think they’re both powerful singers but even in their peaks their artistry and talents didn't even come close to Mariah Carey icl. 1

Y'all need to be for real. Celine and Whitney would sing Mariah under a table.

Considering Celine’s current vocal showcase and Whitney’s before she died they absolutely wouldn’t. Whitney suffered a massive range shrinkage, same as Celine. Mariah’s range is still pretty wide considering.

To be fair … the original reference was Whitney or Celine, to which you included Mariah (“even in their peaks”); so it seems diversionary to now reference Whitney “before she died” and Celine‘s “current vocal showcase,” especially without referencing Mariah‘s recent vocal showcases … just, fair is fair, and to maintain focus … but I could be misinterpreting the original parameters and comparative progression ETA: Noted the “considering,” but I haven‘t heard a non lip-synced recent Mariah performance … so that might just be my lapse in current vocal reference for the third option Edited yesterday at 07:59 PM by bxr
