yeah in 2023 there was a big move of many rich right-wing, Netanyahu allies to the US, especially to Florida, California and New York... there was also a wide campaign against Kamala originated in Israel and the government, they literally set a budget of few million of dollars from tax payer money to campaign against her.

He's missed his window to pull this off successfully. The 2023 NDAA blocks him from doing anything to pull away from NATO or leave entirely without Congressional approval (2/3rds majority Senate vote). 

Now obviously, the tactic he's used of act and ask for forgiveness later could be used to destabilise NATO - but unless the Republicans control Congress after November, that tactic is hard to pull off for something like this. 

But I agree, Europe needs to be more pro-active (which I think this move by the UK and European nations shows some are) about decoupling defence from the US.

I think Americans are slowly but firmly getting sick of it. I hope more people wake up to the fact that more money need to be spent on THEM and THEIR education systems and healthcare instead of being sent away to some regime committing suicide for no reason.

Well, thankfully congress has specifically protected the US' place in NATO so now it requires two-thirds of congress to vote to leave NATO. Trump can't unilaterally do it. 

I went down the rabbit hole of Israeli influence and power inside American institutions and politics a while back. It goes back to the cold war really but the most stark example I found was Carter's presidency. He basically said he believed taking on Israel's lobbies is what cost him a second term.

Even decades after he was out of power, when he wrote a book about Palestinian sovereignty and ending the apartheid, Israel's lobbies pulled their levers in the media to not only defame him but to make him a pariah so that even Democrats distanced themselves.

Thankfully, it seems that era is coming to a close 'cause those same lobbies are burning millions on candidates that are losing.

Oh they for sure are. Few things really break through to the American public at large these days 'cause everyone is in their own little fractured media bubbles but our unconditional funding of Israel's genocide and Israelis' lifestyles is definitely causing a stink on both sides of the spectrum.

It's only being exacerbated by the poor economy and the war that Israel dragged us into.

It always amazes me given the origins of Likud and its dominance in Israeli government that the UK has had an increasingly friendly relationship with Israel over the years. 

Like if you talk about the terror campaign Begin & Irgun ran against the British army in the UK, virtually no one knows about it. Hell you get the likes of Tommy Robinson & Farage simultaneously trying to sabre rattle over the Falklands while praising Israel. Despite Israel having literally helped arm the Argentinians during the Falklands war.
